I've been going to this Denny's for some time lately and I have been treated nice before... And I always ask to sit in a booth but today for some reason this stupid hostess "Car....ta"was very rude to me because of my sitting preference. She directed me to a single table in the middle and told me to sit... I told her about the booth, and she turned around and in a loud voice said: I'll get you a booth OKAY!! All the people sitting around the area turned to look why is she yelling. So I waited and I decided to sit an empty chair by the wall, she came back and said I have a booth for you! I said to her that were I was sitting it's ok. And then she yelled at me... I cleaned a booth for you okay it's not what you wanted so there! Again all the people turned and they were shacking their heads seen how rude this lady was. I talked to her Manager and this hostess "Car....ta"came to me and said...so you want an apology? Here... SORRY I told her she should be nice to customers and she just didn't give a S..t People like her shouldn't be working in the restaurant business they drive customers away! Denny's should train their employees in customer service for the sake of the business!

The woman who was working tonight at 1AM said it would take half an hour to seat myself and 3 friends, despite most of the restaurant being empty. Then we saw 6 of our friends already seated, and we asked a server if we could join them, which she said yes. Then the woman who said it would take us 30 minutes to seat us comes by and says that there are 60 orders being cooked and it will take 90 minutes for them to make our meal, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. The only logical thing I could think of is she just didn't want to deal with our group, because there is no way there were anywhere close to 60 people in that restaurant. And in case your wondering, we weren't rowdy, we were all sober. And we were all pretty quiet, no loud yelling or laughing or talking.

I've been to this Denny's a couple times, but this experience was the worst. We got seated really quickly, but the wait for the food was way too long. It wasn't because it was so busy. It looked like it was because the cook and the waiter forgot our food. We knew this because everyone who was seated way after us was served their food already. Also, my dad's food wasnt even hot. All this made us angry. When they finally brought us our food, the manager apologized to us and provided us a discount. He also offered us dessert for free, but my dad refused because he knew it would probably take another hour or so to even get it. The food wasn't that great, but what can you expect at a fast food diner?

Worst place ever!!! They couldn't get us breakfast within 45min. Every 15min the waiter comes to say the food is coming right out. It was 3pm! Not crowded or anything. At the end the order came out missing, so I said I'm leaving, he said: oh ok. That's all. Worst place and service ever.

Stopped here EARLY in the morning because it was so early not much else was open in San Francisco...we explained to the waitress that we were in a little bit of a hurry because we had work in a hour and a half and she said "Yeah, that should be fine..." with a snarky attitude. The food was decent...my lumberjack slam was ok, its hard to screw up eggs and bacon. It didn't really seem worth the 10 bucks it cost plus the drink was 2 something. Not exactly a good price or value and totally out of the way...I wouldn't come here again unless I completely had to.

Solid 3.5 stars. Definitely better food that's more affordable than IHOP! Honestly, I came here expecting greasy, poor quality food and terrible service, but I was pleasantly surprised! Our server was friendly, full of energy and consistently checked up on us throughout our 1am meal. Food took a little long to come out, but as a party of 10, all was forgiven. The sampler platter (onion rings, chicken strips, and mozarella strips) is pretty good - everything is fried right and the chicken wasn't dry. highly recommend the $2 pancake puppies which are super worth it if you're looking for dessert. We even got 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream instead of one, since our server knew I was sharing. He got brownie points and extra tip! It is Denny's after all, so don't expect great food, but definitely a solid choice if you're hungry and are looking for an affordable meal at any hour of the day. Can't beat the value menu too. $4 all you can eat pancakes? Yes please!

The one star is for the waitress who helped us this evening. She deserves more, but this isn't about her, this is about James. We had no problem with the food or the nice waitress that helped us this evening. Rude and very bad service from James, or rather lack of service. Not once but twice. Who is James? The tall skinny white guy with shaggy light brown hair and possibly the only tall skinny white guy who works there. (Speaking of "shaggy" this guy looks like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.) The first time was a few months ago, we came to Denny's for dinner, walked in and James is at the front desk and doesn't even greet us. He just walks to the back without a word. (If u r the only one up front at least say hi. Acknowledge your guests. If u don't want to help someone then tell them someone will be out to seat them. We're understanding people and despite our brown skin we speak American English just like you, James.) We waited for a few minutes and a busboy comes over and seats us and takes our order. After we've finished eating, we get up to pay and James is at the front desk again. He looks at us and walks to the back, again. We wait for a few minutes and my mom says " maybe we get free meals tonight" to which a waitress pops out of thin air and says she'll ring us right up. Rude. We were standing there all that time and it took the big eared waitress to figure out we were there to pay? If it were my restaurant I'd have some one stationed at that front desk at all times just to greet, seat and take payments. As we were leaving James comes back out and goes right back to his station. Didn't think much about that evening until tonight. So, tonight, same thing...guess who's working? yup, that jerk James. James doesn't even look up from the computer when we walk in, but he knows we're there. A nice young waiter sees us as he's walking by with an armful of dishes and says he'll be back to seat us and, not even a minute later, he does. A family comes in after us and is seated quickly next to us. A few minutes after we've been seated James comes out to help the family next to us and not one word to us. Not even a "Your waitress will be with you shortly" or, "can i get you ladies some water?" Nothing. Oh, that's nice. Yes, go ahead and help guest #2. Wait. I got it, we're ghosts. Wtf James? Are you blind, James? About 5 minutes after James helps the family next to us a nice waitress comes over to take our order. Before she came we were debating whether or not to leave. We had just been stiffed again by the same dude. But because my mom has a good heart, we stay. Fast forward... Food comes, we eat, put tip into waitress' hand, get up to pay. James at desk again, sees us coming, disappears to the back again. We're waiting again. Coincidence? Hell no! This is a real jerk! It takes him nearly five minutes to come back. (I watched the clock on the wall.) He takes our payment and we ask him how do we give customer feed back to which he is actually quite helpful to show and encourages us with the " you'll get a free grand-slam breakfast". Really? A free breakfast for a complaint? Man, why don't more restaurants have an offer like this? After i got home, i was still upset about this guy. Does he only do this to us, my mom and me, or all my Polynesian peoples? So I called the customer line and complained. Still not satisfied with complaining to the nice lady on the phone I brought it here. Maybe James is mentally challenged, I don't know. If you work in/for a business where people are going to remember your service it helps to treat all guests fairly. That's all we want. Fair, honest and nice service. Its Denny's, we know it's not a 5 star place, but 3-5 star service will keep customers. Unless James doesn't want customers...? One thing is for certain, James sucks big time! If you want lack of service and a shitty attitude from James, then go here after 7pm. Not only will you be ignored but he'll help the people who come in after you while you wait. If you want better service by waitresses who can force a smile, actually try earn a tip and serve guests by first-come-first-served basis then go to Denny's in ssf on airport blvd. At least there we've never been left hanging. Thank u for your time.

Watched our server make a chocolate milkshake an leave it in the blender for 20 minutes as we stared at it and he did other things, he proceeded to tell us that the chocolate was watery and that he needed to make the milkshake again, and here we are now, sitting 40 minute later with 1) no milkshake 2) no new milkshake 3) no server check up 4) oh and get this our server just told the table next to us that he's on break. Just fantastic! Aside from the horrible service we just got (actually are currently getting), (I'm a server myself, so I am lenient with most delays and this was the most ridiculous thing ever) the Iced Tea Lemonade thing was gross - don't get it. Also, I wrote this entire review milkshake-less while sitting here and we still haven't gotten checked up on. Pretty sure if we ask for a box we'll be here until tomorrow. If we were bad people we easily could have just left by now without paying. (update: there is now ice sitting in the 1st milkshake that was sitting in the blender, melting on top of the already melted milkshake)

This place gets no stars for bad customer service and a night manager too busy smoking outside to see how filthy and rude their waitresses are . Never eat here.

I love this place because usually I come late at night and the staff is way better at night. Sonia is my favorite! She's so attentive and she will make sure your order is correct. When she comes by to see how your food is, if your Order isn't up to par, she'll make sure it gets fixed!

I've never been a big fan of Denny's but since I was craving breakfast food before work, I walked in and placed an order to go. I type this review as I'm sitting at the front, waiting for my food, which I have ordered over half an hour ago. I understand you're busy, but the service at this location is subpar and while I suspect they forgot to put my order in, they were unsympathetic or apologetic about the trouble or wait. In my honest opinion, Mom and Pop breakfast diners are the only way to go. Needless to say, I've now been waiting 45 minutes and Denny's, your food is not worth that kind of wait. Adios.

They MICROWAVED our food. Our food was brought to us below room temperature, so we politely informed our sweet waitress. She was apologetic and took our food back to the kitchen. The food was then brought back to us soft and soggy. They microwaved my avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce into a weird sludge. The forks were also filthy. But hey, it's Denny's.

The Service and food was alright for it being 11 at night. What made me give this a 1 star was that the Lady working the Cashier completely ignored my request. I had told her that my partner and I were splitting the check, I handed her my debit card and she charged a $10 tip which was intentional from my point of view but with added the rest of the bill to it as well. She then rudely came on to say that my partner could just pay me back and that it wasn't her concern. I had never been so disrespected by a cashier before. She made me regret leaving the tip, I will never be returning to this Denny's ever again

We usually get decent service from the PM servers on the other side of the restaurant (this time we were seated by the bathrooms). The waitress, who I'm guessing was supposed to be taking care of our table, went and took someone else's order who came in after we did. I had to flag down the manager to get our order taken after sitting in a booth for almost 20 minutes with no sign of anyone coming to take our order.

Came here in the morning of Wednesday. They seem to be very busy around 9:00. I order a T-bone steak. It's a little over cooked but the taste is good. The food came fast. The service is good. I live near by and I definitely will come back for breakfast.

I go for the breakfast on weekends to Denny's since I do not want to carry anything in my mind about the work/study. This is the perfect place for breakfast. Almost all the menus are nice but my regular go is Blueberry Pancake Breakfast that comes with Hash Brownie, two egg (any type) and two pancakes (awesome). I add an orange juice to make the breakfast perfect. They have a nice free parking since it is in Serramonte center. Definitely go and try, you will love it.

This place is super dirty. They plates, cups, and utensils aren't clean properly. Why the heck are we serve coffee in a cup that still has lipstick all over it. You can tell the cup wasn't wash properly, and my bf finds something that looks like booger inside the cup floating near his coffee.

Not going to lie, I'm more of an Ihop person myself. Occasionally I'll give Denny's a chance. Usually it works out and I get yummy cheap food. This location always seems to disappoint me. I understand that the people at the front were both busy cashing people out so it took a while to get our seats. Our waiter, hmm. Quite honestly he didn't want to be there and it showed. After we were seated we waited quite a while before he acknowledged us. He made eye contact with us several times but kept walking past us. When he finally swung by it was lan ok hurry up what do want moment. We ordered our drinks and food. I noticed this was the service he gave to everyone around our whole area, And our neighbors were equally annoyed. He got some of my order wrong, like when I asked for and iced tea lemonade, he brought me unsweetened iced tea. And he brought us substitutions we didn't ask for if they were out of something, without asking if we wanted it that way. I realized a bit later he was annoyed because he was forced to stay at work later than expected. He was having a somewhat loud argument with whom I assume is the manager. It kind of made us realize why he was being a butt. Seriously though you shouldn't be arguing in front of customers and you shouldn't take out your frustration on them either. I guess it would've been ok if the food was good, but it wasn't. I'm not a picky eater so I don't mind chain restaurant food. This however was bad. The sandwiches were bland and had a weird texture. Nothing to write home about. I guess after waiting for so long to get my food I wanted it to taste good but was disappointed.

First review ever, I wish it was a positive one. Experience at this restaurant, at around 10pm: The positives: - Open 24/7 The negatives: - Bad service - Mediocre food (even by Denny's standards) - It could be cleaner - Bad service . . . - Bad service. It started well, I was greeted in a friendly manner, and seated. Next to my table there was a spill of maple syrup that had been there for a while. I just moved to another table. I ordered my food, asked for a coke. The waitress forgot my coke (no problem), she acknowledged it in a friendly manner and went to get it (good). After a few minutes my food comes, but no coke. I raised my hand, she comes and before I can say anything she says (with a different and mean demeanor): "I did not forget your coke, they refilled the machine, ok. Give me a minute!". I did not say a word and nodded, but how about anticipating this, and saying "your soda will take a little longer, they are refilling the machine". Ok, still, I let it go. I just want to "enjoy" my food. I'm hungry. She comes back, no eye contact, her head even turned away, places the soda down, flings the straw on the table; just unnecessary... I'm almost done with my food, not follow up questions like: "do you need anything?", fine. But I do need more soda. I made eye contact with several servers, my glass is empty... nothing. I waived to this server that is on the phone at the front desk, she is about 12 feet away; she sees me, and looks away... This happens three times, she is done with the phone, passes by, nothing... Out of 5 other servers, only one came, she was friendly, she got my refill (just 1 out of 5 or 6 servers is nice and competent, come on). I paid, thought about not leaving a tip, but I did, 15%. However, that is the last they'll ever get from me. I do not recommend this place at all.

So everyone has a guilty pleasure and one of mine is Denny's. Frankly, I started serving in a shit hole just like denny's but don't go into the restaurant industry if you're gonna be a bitch about it. The server had a lip piercing and a great neck tattoo that anyone would be proud of... he's a pisces if you wanted to know. Anyways, this guy did not give a flying fuck. After making eye contact three times, he decides to come over, take our order, dropped our food and didn't check on us. His great coworkers and even his manager made eye contact when we needed refills but since we weren't in their section, they didn't care. I had to get up and ask for refills. Needless to say, if you don't check back to see if the food is okay, you're not even getting a ten percent tip. You get the change from the bill. Learn to act like you care so you can make money. You're a disgrace to the serving community and the reason for the need to have computers take over.

OK for dining but do not for pick up! I came to pick up my food and they gave my order away, I had to wait another 15 minutes as they were coming back to ask what I ordered for each order. And when I got back home, they still missed an order. I ordered a Santa Fe skillet and instead I got an omelette with cheese. Cool Sunday morning

Meh, do you really have super high expectations when going to a Denny's? You get what you pay for! We wanted to go here because we knew we wanted to get out for dinner but didn't feel like spending a lot of money. We were seated almost right away. It didn't seem packed but there were a good amount of people here. The bad thing about that was that there was only one lone waitress to serve them all. The service was slow, extremely slow. However, the waitress did a lot of sucking up to us because she knew her tip depended on it! She came out with free soup and a free soda and was super nice to our daughter every time she came to the table. Which wasn't often because she was so busy. The food is what it is. Nothing really changes about their food so you know what you're getting. It filled us up and was a fun night for our little family.

Boy the quality of service has dropped significantly. Took over 10 minutes to be seated in a pretty empty restaurant. All the employees were trying to look busy doing their thing. Getting an order takes a while. Not impressed.

Horrible. I thought they just remodeled this place? The other Denny's in South City had cockroaches and I'm surprised I didn't see any here. Really dirty, slow service and bad food.

Drawn mostly by its convenience rather than milieu, my boyfriend and I find ourselves at this Denny's restaurant quite often. After years of visits, both during normal functioning hours in the day or somehow through the drunken abyss of the night, I find this place to be a rather decent diner. For breakfast: The build your own grand slam is your safest bet, and you can choose four items from a general list of breakfast choices including oatmeal, bacon, sausage, an English muffin, grits, hash browns, turkey bacon, eggs/egg whites, toast, or pancakes. Not a bad deal for a little more than $6. I recommend choosing the oatmeal or the hash browns since they're the most filling. For lunch and dinner: They hold very little variety and showcase pretty typical American diner dishes. Burgers are okay, but they're plain and a bit dry. I do not recommend their pastas. Too salty, tasteless, and downright disappointing. Salads are overpriced. Heck, you're better off throwing one together yourself with a couple pieces of lettuce and some store bought dressing. That being said I usually stick to something on their value menu. Even if the quality is subpar, you can't really be too mad at a $2 cheese quesadilla or pancake puppies. Also, waiting for your food can be excruciatingly long so please don't come here starving. Service is usually okay, although many servers can be inattentive which further makes your waiting experience nearly unbearable. But they're open 24/7. Which I guess makes up for that. Not really. Overall? Denny's is hardly a place of fancy cuisine or elite customer service, so it's best NOT to come in here with high expectations. But with all bullshit aside, they're super convenient, the food is fine, and the prices are fair. So there, three stars granted.

After eating at Bob's Big Boy Broiler in SoCal, the breakfast here is nothing compared to the breakfast at Bob's. My blueberry pancakes were too crispy. I tried drenching them in more syrup to make it softer, but no luck. The parts that were fluffy was good though. The hash browns were ok, but fell apart quickly unlike the one I had at Bob's. The eggs and sausage were fine. I've come to a consensus that the next time I want American breakfast, it's best to go to a local spot.

This dennys is painfully understaffed. Despite dozens of free tables my party of 2 ended up leaving after waiting 20 minutes to be seated. There just aren't enough servers so service is slow and unfriendly.

Dear Carmelita, Thank you for placing me on hold for 5 minutes and never returning to the line. Thank you to the gentleman who answered the phone the second time I called and apparently never placed the order. Even further thank you to Carmelita when I arrived to the restaurant for having me repeat my order 5 times. I'm sitting waiting for my order as I write this. I'm guessing I should thank Carmelita in advance for messing up my order. The 10 minutes I was told it would take to get my order is now 20+ minutes. Excellent job.

It's a Denny's so I'm not going in expecting the most gourmet meal or gorgeous atmosphere, but this location was truly low even on the Denny's scale. Went in, got seated fairly quickly, got seated on a table covered in sticky soda gunk next to even more filthy tables. The service after being seated was SLOW. I understand it's busy, but I could have gotten up, gone to the gas station and bought a bottle of water in the time I waited for a glass. So other than the filth and slow service from my waiter, the food was normal Denny's status foods. Nothing to complain about there. But definitely not coming back.

What can I say about this place? It was great when it first opened, but overtime... it just went downhill. Pros: - Convenient if you're out in the day or the night. - Lots of parking since it's near Macys. - Extensive menu that consists of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. - Cheaper than Ihop. - Near Serramonte Center. - Open 24/7 Now for the cons: - Service isn't the greatest. - Food quality isn't as great as it used to be. - Bathroom here is dirt-tay. - Prices are expensive for the food you actually get. - Place is starting to get old. Convenient for anyone who really doesn't give two shits about the quality of their food and have the crazy munchies.

Went in about 9:30 am full house, ordered the grand slam bacon wasn't crispy hash browns were undercooked eggs slimy even the toast wasn't up to par.. Didn't even halfway finish the plate but I refuse to send back to kitchen, have seen too many hidden camera shows where cooks are offended when you send your plate back and spit in your food... Bottom line will never go back to this Denny's!!!!!!

This restaurant need to be shut down!! Paging corporate people.. Can you please change your crew or put your task force in this location!!! Bad customer service specially your manager... Waited for 20 minutes to take my order. I spoke with the manager and it seems he doesn't even know the heck his doing to run this place!!

Horrible. Presentation, taste, waitress. I speak for a lot of peoplewhen i say to come here and see what i mean. If you're not disgusted by the food or the dirtiness of the atmosphere then by all means. Come here. You can notice the multiple utensils on the floor and the unwiped tables. Simply bad. Dennys why would you let this location live. Kill it with fire :( please.

It's pretty funny that I just gave a good review for Denny's in a different location last night, and I come to this location just now. I've never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. The reviews for this location is no joke; they are terrible. Why is the wait 15-30 minutes when the place has a lot of open tables? I really don't understand that. My boyfriend and I waited for 20 minutes to only be seated to wait for another 20 minute. Hello? Where's our waiter/waitress? I see you look at us but none of you guys have the decency to come up and ask us if we have ordered. You don't see drinks on our table, and our menus are still at our table! We placed them at the edge for a reason reason; it means we're ready to order. But no waiter or waitress ever showed up to simply introduced themselves. We decided to leave and eat somewhere else. I handed the menus back, and I asked the hostess how come no one showed up to our table. (Mind you, there was a lot of them and with a lot of tables open.) However, she asked us where we sat. HELLO? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SEATED US. No one was seated after us! Completely unacceptable, and I refuse to come back to this location.

I feel really bad because this Denny's has been here for as long as I can remember and I hate to leave few stars. But wow, even after the remodel I don't know what it is about this place. My son told me he came here and they did not even bring his pancakes that were part of his meal and they kept reminding the waitress and she kept forgetting. I went here with a friend about 10pm and mostly all the tables had not been cleared off. I see the employee working hard, and I know working these hours can be tiring so I think it is probably a matter of Management stepping up the game.

  • Vern S.

Well I already checked in here, but unfortunately we were not served. I been to this location a few times, and it seems consistent and apparent to what the restaurant is lacking in. 2 stars - only because we really like the food from Denny's. For the service, it was beyond understanding for why the service was the way it was for our visit. The lady at the counter tells customers that there would be a 15-25 minute wait to be seated, while what looked like half of the restaurant's tables were open. After being seated, we were never acknowledged, even for drinks. We were patient, waiting almost 20 minutes just to see if anyone would come to our table. Didn't happen. My girlfriend and I decided to leave, and as we walked out, she approached the lady at the counter to see what the problem was. And, to our surprise, she did not know where we were sitting at. And she was the one that sat us.

Service was nice especially for early in the morning :) We had a large table of 14 and they were able to accommodate us easily. The food was good breakfast food as usual. Everything came out on time and at the same time. You can't really go wrong here. You get what you pay for, and I think it's a good cheap eat. They're are some good deals here that will fill your tummy right up!

I am in this dennys as I talk. So as I walked in just a few minutes ago, I slip even though there is a black mat there. They should put the matting with the holes in it. I could've called the boss of this establishment and say you guys need a bigger mat. Oh and did I say I was handicap? Well I sure don't look it but I am. And as soon as me and my family walked in the waitress says "all of the other tables are dirty. So we sit on the very 1st table when you walk in. As you may know, it is very chilly here. Yet they send a Mexican family back there. Is there seats back there? I don't know. As I was saying, the tables were all dirty and messed up. No one wants to look at dirty dishes while eating right? You guys need to do your jobs!

I came here a few days ago craving for diner food thinking that, "Hey, maybe this Denny's is like most of the Denny's I've been to." But oh boy, it wasn't. Well, first off, the food gave me the shits - pardon m'French. The taste, however is better than most of what I had up north elsewhere in the East Bay. However, nope, I do not enjoy the idea of having stomach cramps. Secondly, the service is terrible. You know terrible when you see one right? Anti-social and a little bit rude. Please, whoever's hiring, hire someone competent and competently speaks the language. You know? Those who can fucking fake a smile and TRY. But if you wanna give people with issues a chance. Goddamnit, I am not coming back here. But I'm not. Also there was this dude who kind of texts a lot. You know he's an employee but he kind of just guides you... he's not even wearing the uniform or whatever. Is this even allowed? Who knows? Maybe he's fucking the manager? I kid, I kid. Anyhow, this place gave me a bad time. Like cancerous. I will not be coming back here. I'm just really sorry how this goddamn branch is ruining it for most of the other Denny's. Bad management. Bad management indeed.

PLEASE SOMEHOW CHANGE MY MIND. I love diners, I really do. But when the service is absolutely horrendous, my entire experience goes down the toilet. Perhaps we came on a bad, busy day. My grand slam was only a triple (they forgot my sausages). The waitress didn't offer us straws, and it took at least 5 minutes each time I tried to get the waitresses' attention. ): Also, the waitress that was assisting us seriously gave off an air of "you should know better" or she felt as if we, the diners, knew how the diner operated and how their specials work, WHICH WE OBVIOUSLY DON'T. She was terribly rude, and I hope for anyone that dines here that they don't experience the rudeness that was placed onto us. Upon paying for the meal, they also overcharged us. We had to go back to get everything sorted out, of which the gentlemen at the front did a very good job and were extremely courteous.

This has got to be the worst Dennys ever. Every single time I've been here not only did I receive the WORST SERVICE EVER but I also received the most TERRIBLE FOOD! When I complained about the food I received airmen from the waitstaff and even heard the cook yell some profanity and argued about it as well. Then, the food they brought out to fix my complaint was even worse than before. Now, I figure is give them another chance and I call in an order. The girl tells me they no longer have the 2 dollar value biscuit n gravy with one egg meal. They have a 4 dollar version. Apparently they took it off the menu just before the holiday. Wow, so I them order the fit fare Harvest Oatmeal meal and she tells me they only serve oatmeal in the morning! When had Dennys EVER not served breakfast 24 hours?! I'm never coming here ever again! Back to iHop for sure!

  • Brandon D.

Ok so food wise, I really cant say very much. It's Denny's. It's like all the other 2,000,000 Denny's out there. What does get me is the fact that easy, special requests for menu items seem to be very hard for the staff to execute. Saying things like "no tomato" or "wheat bread instead of white" often times get jumbled up or forgotten altogether. The service is a huge hit or miss at this Denny's. My friends and I come here frequently and have seen the full spectrum of hospitality. There are waiters that listen to you clearly, check up on you, and greet you affably each and every time. Then there are the workers who scowl at you when you request something extra, never ask if you're doing okay, and just give and overall impression that they hate their jobs. C'mon we've all had the job as a McD's cashier or a server, and yeah it gets hard, but you should never be a total jerk. Overall, its a great chill spot for those late nights when a grand-slam will just hit the spot. Just don't expect great service every time.

So Dennys is average. The food isnt that great but hey its opened up late. I only eat the breakfast here for some reason. I usually come here late since theirs nothing else around me thats open 24 hours. On a recent visit last friday night, we came around 12am with a big group. I say about 10 of us. Awesome customer service all the way through the night, until our bill came. So their were 12 of us, and there were only 11 entrees and he missed 2 of our drinks.. On the table we read "If we mess up on your order tell a manager and you get that item for free" SOMETHING LIKE THAT. So we talked to our waiter (Didnt know if he was a manager) and we showed it to him. He quickly took the check as fast as he could to ring us up again. So he came back and we didnt get any entree for free? false advertisement much? OK maybe we didnt talk to the manager. We looked at it ONE MORE TIME and they STILL forgot something. They forgot a beer. WTH? How many times do you need to ring out the check? haha this time we didnt say anything, paid it and left.

I go to this Denny's whenever I have to service the company car (5k miles) at the Firestone nextdoor. The staff is nice and the food is your usual Denny's fare. I usually go for their breakfast. Today I had the Lumberjack, where you get eggs, pancakes, toast, hashbrowns, sausage, bacon and a slice of ham. That was a lot of food. The place is usually full and there is a ton of free parking.

The only reason to ever eat at a Denny's is because it's past 2am and you are drunk. Who the hell eats at Denny's WILLINGLY while they're sober!? I've got a soft spot for this Denny's in particular. Be nice to the waitresses Cathy and Angelina. They're total sweethearts. Cathy's got SPUNK and these ladies are S-A-S-S-Y! Angelina's kid is totally cute too. She'll show you videos on her phone hahahahaha. They always humor my friends and I while we're all drunk. Plus, they remember us! So don't punk out on tipping them!

Hello all, it s me Steve (the white guy with the glasses that used to wait on all of you guys. Well a year ago I did.....) And I must say i really miss all of you and truely appreciate being stopped allong the streat from people saying "dont I know you?" to the ever popular "Hey Steve" remember me?" man I gotta say It warms my heart to have had so man people remember me after so long. I ve been wrestling with the idea of wrting a review about my old stomping grounds for a long time but for the last few weeks I ve heard some sad news that brought me to this. Which was:: all of my old family is gone except regina and Kathrine (at least on the night shift that it). I also wanted to express my understanding to the people who don t go there anymore (this has been repeated to me over and over) I just wanted to say that we enjoyed your company just as much as you enjoyed ours because we really did love our jobs and this was in no small part to the fact that we really were a second family, we were there for each other in and out of work. Also to the normals who came in week in and week out you guys can t be left out at all for you were our friends as well. To Rosie, Catherine and daughter, , Kathy, Reina, Regina, Lorence, Chewey, Brent, Nancy Angelina, Janet, the 2 amegos, the mornin crew and the others whom I 4 some reason can t think up your names at 4 in the mornin (the host with the family/ the manager who moed back home back east/ the manager who worked 24 hour shifts doin 2 jobs/ and the manager who used to loose her tempoer allot but still mamnaged to be a sweet woman. I just wanted to say that I ll never forget you. I ll always cherish our time together and will always long for a return to thoughs days. It s a shame that the newest crew of workers weren t inogerated into the family because I ve heard stories that point at it being just another denny' s now. I did try to come back, was givin the run of the milll interview and subquently never called back.... To this I can only say: allong with Kathy I was the most animated waiter you guys had I was fearless forthcoming kick ass and brought to the job a genuine love for people no matter their looks or back groiwnd. Frankly I didnt give 2 cents about things such as this. One last thing, To the current crew: try to love your jobs, be good to eachother, dont sweat the small stuff, and treat every one whom comes in that door as if they were your own family. and know that the hardest thing you will ever have to do is leave the outside world on the outside and the inside world on the inside. Otherwise you ll be let go like me. Not easy I know, I did it 4 four years before lack of sleep, 12 hour christmas shifts and a stress full relationship brought my mental wall down. Be good to yourselves and eachother.

It's a chain, I know but I felt compelled to write a review after eating here on a Saturday afternoon. This is the Denny's I grew up with. This was the spot to go to after high school dances, plays, prom, the club, whateva! It's always been just Denny's. But something feels different, they did something to step their game up. The service was really good but there's another reason why I like this location in particular: the mimosas. Go ahead and call other Denny's, see if they serve mimosas!!

As Denny's goes, its one of the better ones in the bay area. It's cleaner, more quiet and the service is faster.

So, this is my first review nd it happens to be Denny's . I had already disliked Denny's from a previous visit but my friends wanted to come here, it was around 3-4 AM. Looking at tha menu, they make themselves seem really good; tha pictures looked delicious. There having a value menu right now so we ordered mostly from there. I got an orange peach splasher, santa fe skillet, 1/2 of tha ~zesty~ nachos nd a side of red skinned potaturs.. SO, let's start with tha splasher; one sip nd i thought it tasted like an alcoholic drink without tha alcohol/burn. My friend tasted his after i said that nd agreed with me. 15 minutes into our way, tha waiter comes back nd tells our friend that they can not make his meal because of some complications so he has to order something else. THEN, i realize that we did not even have napkins/forks/spoons/etc. while tha empty tables around us DID. so my friends 'ninja'ed' their way to get some utensils while i was trying to get tha managers attention. MMM.. 5 seconds after looking at her, she stared right at us with an expression that we doing something wrong. so i continued to look at her with my hand up.. i wish she would of came up to us. After my friends had already gotten us all utensils, some worker who had been vacuuming right NEXT to us offers us some. -- I'm going to cut this review of now; tha food was OK if you want something from tha value menu. You get what you pay for.. Like my friend MISS FOXY ALICE said, "Well what do you expect 2 in the morning?"

I love breakfast food at anytime of the day and for me to fulfill that craving, I come here. I love the OJ Strawberry Mango probably because I love OJ, strawberry, and mango. Lol. There are times when I get seated here really fast and there are times when they take forever. I prefer coming here at night when it's not busy. Their $2,4,6,8 menu and grand slam is pretty legit. Our waiter/waitress are usually friendly and are very attentive.

  • Pug P.

Went there today, the servers are overworked and have too many tables to tend too. Service was slow as shit and the food was undercooked. The only saving grace was the nice woman who was the hostess. I thought I had woke up in Hell. There were enormously overweight people eating ice cream sundaes and fried everything next to me making me sick while we waited for our food. Behind me was a woman speaking so loud to her kids, i needed ear plugs. Everyone there was on their i phones. Some with the music turned up so loud, i could hear them 6 tables away. Others were there just playing video games while their rancid food got cold. To say that at least 25% of the people here took showers, is stretching it. I actually stood behind a woman who was so fat she was crushing her own shoes sideways. NEVER AGAIN

So, this is a Denny's. I don't expect a lot when going to Denny's. In fact, I expect next to *nothing* when going to Denny's. I (apparently) should have expected much, much less. Here are my expectations: I will go inside and sit on a syrup-sticky seat, with my arms on a sticky table, and use utensils that may or may not have been washed. Ever. I will be dealt with by wait staff who reek of cigarettes and/or the perfume of shattered dreams. I will receive the bare minimum service required to necessitate my meager needs. I will likely have violent diarrhea shortly after eating. These are not what I would call "high standards." Honestly, I don't even want to relive the experience any more than I already have by merely thinking about it. Suffice to say, don't ever ever ever go here unless forced to at gunpoint. They fell short of the expectations I listed above - that should tell you enough. *shudders*

A slice and a half of bacon with my slam, not even full cups of coffee, slow service, and a waiter who doesn't write orders down and so 3 out of 5 of us got orders wrong. This on a slow Sunday with the place only half full.

Meh. I've experienced better. Yeah, that's right. I came here like a week ago late at night with some fam. I order a simple fucking order... "Can i get thee... cheese cake and coffee please? =) thank you.." more than enough time has passed already and i have not gotten my coffee. what the fuck... because really, how hard is it to pour a fucking cup of coffee into a cup? less than 20 second right?!? maybe 10 minutes later i get my cheesecake. ... i still don't have my coffee... what the fuck... how the hell do you serve someone cheesecake first then a coffee??? oh wait that's right, i did get my coffee. like 5 minutes after i got my cheesecake. and to top it off there was fucking lipstick on that fucking coffee mug!!!!! what can i say, i mean i LITERALLY got bent over and got fucked in the ass without any lube on a customer service level. man... i bet if i was stoned off my ass from blowing several blunts to the face, i'd be able to pour a coffee and serve a cheesecake under 5 minutes, maybe under 3

the only time i eat denny's when you come out from the club and you looking for hungry, one thing a plus is that there 24 hours so you never had to worry. every time i get there wait is well over 30 minutes to 1 hour, the time you spend you could had went to another one and got over with it. everyone from the city finish partying and this the only spot left to eat. other times i just go to lucky chance, lucky pennys or westborgh dennys' :) never really had to wait over there :)

I used to go here a lot with the homies after the club to get our grub on. The service isn't great at all. Slow and sometimes clumsy waiters. One of the managers was very rude. I forgot her name, but she's this short hispanic older lady. Health wise, almost anything you order is a heart attack waiting to happen. If you're every curious of how many calories or grams of saturated fat you're consuming, check out the Denny's nutrition facts online. I believe the ever so famous Sampler with all those yummy sauces comes out to a grand total of 1405 calories and 80 grams of fat. hahaha, that's ridiculous. Sorry if I ruined anybody's appetite, but think twice before you order that bad boy.

Yesterday, I dropped by there to order take out. I decided to pay my bill using my credit card and was asked whether I wanted to leave a tip (seriously...it's a freaking take out order)! I felt that I was put on the spot, so I gave him a tip. Since I gave the server a tip, I expected that when I picked up my order, everything would be included. I got home and discovered a missing item and chose to just let it go. This morning, I called in my order. They quoted me 10 minutes, but I actually didn't arrive until 20 minutes. When I arrived, I check my order and identified a few missing items. Paid by credit card again and was asked again if I wanted to leave a tip (again....it's for take out!). This time I told the server about my missing item from yesterday and declined giving them a tip because of it. After paying for the order, I was told that the missing item would take another 30 minutes to be prepared. In the meantime, the rest of the food that was ready was getting cold. They offered to remake my entire order, but I told them that I didn't trust that they would not contaminate or sabotage my new order. I spoke with the manager and explained my frustration with him. I told him that I would have appreciated being told of my delayed order (by phone) before paying for it. Needless to say, the end result is that I asked for a refund for the entire order. Their resolution: 1. I can keep my receipt, and the next time I come in, they would apply what has been paid as a credit (yeah right I'm coming back there again). 2. I was told that the refund would have to be requested through corporate and it would take 7 days. He began to imply that I would need to generate the call, but before he could finish that thought, I told him a refund would be fine, but that he would need to generate it. 3. He began to process the refund, but ended up giving me cash instead of a credit (hmmm....lazy much). Anyway, never again will I order from Denny's at Serramonte and in fact, if I order from Denny's again, I will make sure that I inspect the food prior to paying for it.

DENNYS! some dennys are different from one another. same menu, different host/servers. i like going to the other one in westbrough. my last check in here i ordered a grandslam good price from the 2,4,6,8 deal, good service but found a longpiece of HAIR underneath my sunny side up eggs, i complained about it and replaced it right away but i lost my appetite after that incident. i wasnt so happy after that meal. i recommend the westbrough dennys much better than this one!

I'm going to be blunt . The service here is terrible. There were only a few people in the restaurant and from the moment we stepped foot inside to when we got our food it took about an hour and twenty minutes. Then once we checked our bill there was an item charged that we didn't even order. Time to look for a new place to eat at 3 am.

Denny's, meh. Some classmates and I came here at around 11PM last night to have dinner after an intense study session. First things first, they remodeled the place. I believe the manager was taking down their holiday stuff (the tinsel and whatnot). Denny's is your typical diner food, nothing special. Parking's great. Oh, yeah, they serve beer now... It's the oddest thing. Anyways, our waitress was extremely helpful, she helped me build my own Grand Slam AND save money! She could be my financial adviser! Nothing was really wrong with this place, but my classmate freaked out when we waited about 20 minutes to order our food... His last words were, "She never came..." *shudders

wow.....the most unhappy waitress, no smile,no personality, slow as could possibly be, a lot of tables with dishes still on them...my slamburger was ok...but my daughters mac n cheese looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot!!!!

Ok wow we went here for breakfast and we've been waiting to take our order so we asks the waiters for them to take our order and all they said was "Sorry, I'm not your server" so yeah no one even took our order and we just left. Their service sucks.

I've never found the service at this Denny's to be notable. It must be a miserable place to work. The food's not very good and seems to have gone downhill over the years. It still packs a crowd on the weekends. Heard today that they got robbed, including the customers and staff. Makes you leary about going out to eat and being stuck in a place where it's being held up. *Shutter*

3.5 stars. Last .5 for Pippi, my tater tot whore! Hey, girl, hey! Aye baybay! Went there today with my girl, Pips, because we decided Barracuda Sushi was too much (we shall return there someday). Anyway, since it was a Wednesday afternoon, there was not much of a wait. (Though we never really have to wait, even on the weekends.) Mmm..we were seated at a roomy booth and our waiter, Miguel, greeted us immediately. I got the country-fried steak and eggs, and Miguel was very good with my requests. The food was pretty good, but I'm never too fond of their hash browns...maybe I should've gotten the grits instead. Anyway, Miguel came back a couple of times to check on us, which was nice of him. Overall, the food is always decent and cheap, especially for those morning-afters.

I love Denny's, good for any time of the day especially since I love breakfast. I've had good and bad experiences here but the food is always good. It's like a hit and miss though when it comes to service.

If I could give negative stars I would they screwed up a pick-up order 3 times and I was right there in the rest. Giving them the order so tell me how do you screw up that bad.

One would expect better food and a whole lot more selection on their menu considering that they are right next to the Serramonte Shopping Center!

You know, it's actually very decent here. There's something appealing about eating pancakes late at night with a bunch of colleagues. Came here after a night of bowling, and I'd have to say, the food is okay. Sure it's not as tasty as Boulevard Cafe or a family-owned pancake house, but the menu is cheap and you're not paying for crap. Saved a lot of money here, an everyday value slam (2 pancakes + 2 eggs +2 bacon) plus a Sprite only cost me $7. I can't really name a better value. Maybe I wouldn't automatically recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch, but a stop-over at Dennys after a late-night gathering is really a unique experience. And honestly, I think their pancakes taste better than Ihop.

Dear Marketing Director at Denny's, Congratulations on a fine job on the in restaurant marketing campaigns that you have developed. Your menu is chock full of great colorful photographs of the items, Everything looks so large and fresh and mouthwatering. You have a list of options that are a mile long and guaranteed to satisfy the craving of anyone in the world, young, old, on a diet or on a binge. You come up with new menu items that I've never seen anywhere else. You have a kid's menu for the little ones, and specials for the budget conscious seniors. Your menu is so great that the BF and I actually debated on ordering all of the following:cheesy bacon fries, slider burgers, chicken wings, onion wings, sampler platter, meat lovers omelet, buffalo chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak, apple pie and the brownie dessert. In the end we settled for chicken fried steak, the buffalo chicken sandwich, cheesy bacon fries and shakes and only because we feel that at 27 and 30 we are too young to have heart attacks. That is when we discovered that your marketing as great as it is, fails to deliver. Let's just say it this way, Mr. or Ms. Marketing Director: GREAT IDEA IN THEORY, NOT SO MUCH IN REALITY. I get more fries from a small order at In and Out. And the cheese was not evenly distributed and the bacon was inconsistent in terms of size. I got a whole piece of bacon, mixed in amongst specks of bacon so small I probably could have used a magnifying glass to find it. My chicken fried steak was good but lacking the gravy. My toast was overcooked and had a smattering of butter. Again, the whole not evenly distributed factor thing. My grits were gross, not like any grits I've ever had. My BF said his sandwich was good but not great. It looked better in the picture. But maybe this whole thing is my own doing. I know what to expect at Denny's. It's cheap not wonderful food. The thing is, can you stop doing such a good job with the pictures, menus, and descriptions? Just show the food for what it is, cheap thrown together food. We'll still come and patronize your establishment of course. It will always be great at 2am when I am starving after leaving the bar, and at 10am when I am hungover and want to soak up the alcohol running through my veins. But please stop showing such good pictures of the food and writing such tantalizing descriptions so that I get my hopes up, only to get let down. Thank you! A long time Denny's Patron

Victor M, our waiter, was awesome. He told us he was tired but gave us excellent service. Our food came our in 3 minutes. At first we were told to wait 5 minutes to be seated, but got seats 1 minute after. Then we got two waiters asking for our order even before we could decide among their huge menu. Then we got the food really fast. The food was perfect. The pancakes are AMAZING. The unlimited refills cappuccino was awesome. Victor checked on us 3 times even though he had many other tables to take care. He was literally on his toes. He earned his tip. We'll ask for him again!

We found a Denny's that serves an Extreme Grand Slam for $5.99!!! At the Denny's on Post Street in San Francisco, the Extreme Grand Slams were $10.99 and we were told they were charging "cost of living" prices. We wrote Denny's customer services, and they promised to let us know which Denny's near our home was a participating restaurant that served breakfasts at the special prices. After many lame letters, the dumb shits told us that the one on Post Street was a franchise and could charge any price they want. Dumb shits... that wasn't my question. We'll probably not eat at Denny's under normal circumstances, but it was eating at us -- we had to eat a $5.99 breakfast at Denny's at some point. Anyway, we did. Now we know a place to take my in-laws when they come over. They're from the Midwest and expect Denny's to charge the special prices. Denny's isn't know to be a classy restaurant. They're known for their cheap Grand Slams. It took about 15 minutes before they could seat us. We got there around 12:15 on Sunday. We got there before a lot of people started showing up. It took another 15 minutes for the wait person to come by to take our orders. He only came by about 2 other times. Once to bring our food and another time to put the bill on our table. I'd rather go to Howard's. But, it was good to find out that there was a Denny's that took part in the "Denny's program." At most, the three strips of bacon, 3 sausages, two eggs, hash browns, and 3 pancakes should have been $7.99... I don't think I should pay for Denny's rent. A lot of the wait people look like family. What a rip off! I got a "Summer Sizzling Special" alright.

I had nothing better to do for this next 5 minute of my life so I decided to update my review on this Denny's. I just wanted to take this time to ask the staffs at this location, why do you guys have to be so disrespectful to the customer? IS it that you make so much money that you can care less about a certain amount of customers? AND I also wanted to ask the Security guard that works there on certain nights, (tall big guy with glasses) why are you so rude to the customers? Isn't your job suppose to be keeping the place calm and running smooth...?!? I'm sorry Yelpers, I don't mean to be a smart-a** in anyway or waste your time by reading my review but this is simply the worst Denny's possibly one of the worst restaurants I've been to. All thanks to the SERVICE. P.S. food doesn't taste good enough to make up for the service!!

Man, this place really sucks. Our service was pretty good, but the food is just garbage. We came here one late night only because it was open, and there wasn't anywhere else to eat. I ordered a bacon cheddar burger and through to myself that there is no way this burger can be bad, after all, it's a burger, and Dennys is a diner, so the burgers should be decent, right? Oh man... how wrong. So damn nasty, and you know it's bad when your burger meat has a faint liver flavor. My wife ordered breakfast, and the only decent thing was the eggs and the oatmeal. The hash browns tasted like a slab of previously frozen, drowned in vegetable oil blocks of potato shreds. You know it's bad when you're burping up vegetable oil an hour later. The oatmeal came with some milk and brown sugar which made it decent. Only go to Dennys as a last resort.

I have to say, the food is average, but there was this one waitress, whom I swear was on steroids or had way too much caffeine, makes eating there quite a trip. She may be in her 50s, but definately acts like a 18 year old who has lots of energy to burn. This place is my new chucky cheese, where a Waiter can be a kid!!!

    (5)
  • Alison N.

Not bad. I like it b/c it's open 24/7. And the food is decent. I mean, it's freaking Denny's what do you expect? Grade A meals? I think not.... I went with my friend the other day at like 12 or 1 in the morning...we were still deciding what we wanted but they kept apologizing for the long wait?? I was like dudes, CHILL. But it was still nice anyway. Really good waitress. Srsly, not many places are open late at nite.... Minus 1 star for the items not tasting/looking as good as they do in the menu... And one for the effing confusing way to GET to this Denny's....you havee to weave in and out of the stupid Serramonte parking lot. UGH.

  • Chris R.

This by far is the worst Denny's ever! Bad food and bad service. Our rude Filipina waitress must be on drugs because when she took our order, she literally sat down next to me, shoulder to shoulder and asked what we want. She didn't even apologize for hitting my arm nor did she tell us who she was. She scared the crap out of my 16 year cousin when she stormed next to me. Then she came back and told us that she needs Starbucks. What? Don't they make coffee at Denny's? So, I ordered a French toast grand slam that tasted hard and I asked the waitress where was my pancakes? She looked at me and asked you ordered pancakes? Then there was this Chinese man sitting behind me caughing up the storm. I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. The place is just nasty.

I used to go to Denny's in high school all the time, loved the late night grand slams and pie. I thought my tastes had evolved beyond that until I stopped in for a quick breakfast a few months back. The new menu is a HUGE improvement- I build my own grand slam with eggs whites, turkey bacon, chicken sausage, wheat toast and sometimes I even add whole grain pancakes! They have mimosas too, but good luck getting them to put yours in the novelty kid's cup. For a while there I thought I had found a whole new breakfast place, healthy options and so affordable- right in Daly City! Then it happened... we went for breakfast a couple of weeks back and when I ordered my grand slam the waitress told me they were all out of egg whites... all out of egg whites? Do you have regular eggs? Yes. So I ordered them sunny side up. I thought I beat the system, I could just eat around the yoke! It didn't hit me until they brought the food... they've been using pre-package eggs white this whole time! This whole time I've been ordering my eggs whites they have never once gone in the back and cracked an egg to make my breakfast! My sunny side up eggs were just raw. Straight up raw. My boyfriend got scrambled eggs... they looked fake and pre-packaged too. I'm especially annoyed that when they run out of the pre-packaged eggs whites they won't just separate the yoke from the egg for you- they just tell you that you can't have egg whites. How do they think real restaurants do egg whites? So that was that and we haven't been back... I'm sooo disappointed, but not sure why I expected more from Denny's!

This place is ridiculous. Me and my friends waited a least 20 mins for the waiter to take our order. Waited another 30 mins for the 4 orders. Their double cheeseburger is big but tastes like McDonald's meat. Never coming here again. Worse service ever.

It's a Denny's, so it's not gonna be amazing, but it's a good standby when you want a hot breakfast. I have no complaints about this location, but there's nothing amazing to report either. If you feel the jones for Denny's though it's the best option in the area.

Was the only place open in the early AM, so we hit it up. Holy smokes this place has poor service. We walked in and stood there for 5 minutes till the secutiry guard sat us at a table...THE SECURITY GUARD GREETED US AND SAT US!!! All those waiters working there and not a single one helped us. I bet the security guard shook his head thinking "Damn, this place really does suck!" No one even had time to clean the tables. Dirty dishes all over the place. Denny's food always suck, so i wont even get into that. The manager ought to make like Arnold and terminate all the young cats he/she hired.

by far the worse ever experience of denny's in my life!!!!! I've never had to wait 25 minutes to just have a waiter or waitress come to ask if we were ready to order, and after taking our order we waited another 20 minutes just to get our food. it was so ridiculous.

I HATE Denny's . Only good thing about it is that it's open 24/7 . The service isn't that great . There's nothing good to eat on the menu . Everything is soaked in grease and oil . The food isn't even all that great . And on top that , the food is overpriced . Last time I came here with three of my friends my friend came here , one of my friends was eating and found a piece of metal in his burger which looked like someone's cavity ( Please note that my friend does not have cavities ) . EWWWWW . The people were nice about it though .. the manager offered my friend a free meal . Haha , they just don't wanna get sued ..

1 o'clock in the morn' and feeling toothsome at the homestead. Options for late night eats in SF are limited to begin with and even more so in Daly City. I eat at IHOP semi-regularly but felt like a change. Lacking an automobile it takes me about 20 minutes on foot to get to the "pancake" place. I fire up Google Maps and locate the local Denny's and decide that even though it's a much longer walk, the opportunity to eat something different is worth the trouble. I set out and 50 minutes later trekking down many a street without a sidewalk (damned pedestrian unfriendly municipalities, grumble) I finally spot the yellow oval sign of the restaurant. Unfortunately there's a sign apologizing that they've closed from the hours of 11pm to 1am on this particular night. I check my phone and it's 10 minutes after one and with relief walk through the door only to be turned away by a waiter from across the floor. I end up back at IHOP another 30 minutes later and eat my fill before taking the twenty minute trek home. More adventure than I wanted for a plate of flapjacks...

I think it's been about a year since I've eaten at Denny's. As expected, Denny's was...hmmm...well Denny's. Does anything ever change about this place? Rarely...which is why I think people go there...they know what to expect. Oh yeah...and I think skinny people also go there to feel good about themselves...cuz everyone's pretty much fat...which is how you'll end up if you go to this place more than once a year.

oh dennys. youve been near my house for pretty much my entire life and everytime i get suckered into comin here something goes wrong. whether it be those young punk whippersnappers coming back from clubbing and "actin' a fool" or if its the hot sour smell of the table after youve wiped it with a rag that hasnt been cleaned in ages, its always a new experience. one time i was here somebody threw up in the lobby, yay. another time i was here, someone came in damn near dead from some kind of beating and asked me for a ride home. a ride home to oakland.

After "Avatar," my compadre was craving some grub. Long ass movie but captivating. Not too familiar with the area so went for Nation's because it was open but only for burgers ... remember? I had the rib eye earlier that day so ... I wanted BREAKFAST after midnight so ... DENNY'S !!! Serramonte !!! Never been to this one ... seemed as heavily "gendarme" fortified as the movie theatre ... what's with the Westlake/Daly City area? Cops all over the movie theaters and eating establishments? Well when we first arrived, the maitre'd seemed lost in thought or consumed by cell phone and the burly, pony tailed Security Guy seemed focused on the maitre 'd so I was about to WTF but this isn't my turf and after a minute or two it did seem to occur to them that it would be nice to offer these two people seats and so ... so they said to wait ?!? Well a minute or so later a waiter placed us in a booth and I guess it was my day for epic menus ... had a Grand Slam, I mean why else would you go to Denny's? Impressed with how fast our waiter produced our orders, and the waiter was hecka efficient so I tipped 20% even though the people at the door kind of space out ... those eggs over easy, hash browns, pancakes (I never eat pancakes but they were pretty good with the warm syrup) so all in all, if you have the craving and a few dollars and it's late at night ~ hey this place is a workable propostion ... fast~ass breakfast ~

I went two weekends ago with the family for breakfast. Haven't been to this location in over a decade, so wasn't sure what to expect. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant (we went early), but nonetheless, the service was excellent! I wished I had his name handy, but he was one of the most attentive servers I've ever seen. Really nice to my kids. Really. In a Denny's restaurant no less. He even crushed up Oreo cookies so my son could have it in his milk and pretend he was drinking a milkshake! My double patty burger was so moist. Damn good! The kids love the food too. My wife commented again how their portions were a lot better these days (we usually go to the one near Westborough Blvd. and noticed the food was better). I know Denny's get a bad rap most of the time, but this visit was oddly enough one worthy of a Yelp comment.

honestly guys its fucking dennys it aint cheese cake factory. hrmmmm btw i gotta go there. anyways. i usually come to dennys late at night when i am hella faded or i am just mad hungry. i like coming at night cause the workers at night are just hella cool. theirs this chinese lady that works there always makes me laugh. she knows my friends so shell just be raggin on them. and some of the other workers are cool. theyll sit with you and talk to you. i think thats what diners really lack. cause for me its always good to talk. some diners i ve been too i ve enjoyed alot due to the workers talking to you. i guess its that nostalgia feeling. i dont know. like i said its dennys nothing special.

Practically the only reason I come here is to eat with my DC friends who can't deal with SF traffic. (What SF traffic??) Also, SF is sorely lacking twenty-four hour diners and cafes, so I end up here a lot to just drink coffee, write, and brainstorm till 4am in the morning. And I give them two-stars because they let me without rollling their eyes or getting annoyed. Hell, a few times they've given me the coffee for free! Stay away on Friday and Saturday midnight mornings, or you'll be inundated with the 2am rush of club kids. Unless that is your sort of thing...

My boyfriend and I usually visit this Denny's when we're in the mood for some late night sweets and nothing in Pacifica is open after 9. :) It's worth the trip at late night hours just to people watch. Pacifica is a blue-collar town and you'll find the usual late night crowd is composed of working men coming home after a late night job or older couples dining out. The waitresses are usually friendly, even if you're just out for a $5 dessert.

Just like all other dinners, but with a very friendly staff. Becareful pass midnight here though, some pretty dangerous looking people come here when the bars close up. Last time I went here, they had two really big security guards at the door.

went yesterday for a bowl of soup - i could have made a pot of soup in the time it took us to get a glass of water and there was hardly anyone in the place it was pretty much empty and so flippin dirty - needless to say we walked out.

Everytime I come here, especially after midnight on a weekend, theres always a fight in the parking lot. SOme people would consider it a perk, espiecally if you sit by the window. THen it means you got yourself a dinner and entertainment. Bone crunching entertainment that usually ends with the cops reading someone their Miranda Rights. Normally whenever I'm at an establishment like Denny's I always get a breakfast meal, even it is 3:32 am and I'm wasted as shit. I want my hash browns and I want my scrambled eggs doused in hella ketchup damnit! Its hard to judge the food at an establishment like Denny's because your not expecting fine French cuisine here. No, your here for the greasiest and the filling for under 10 bucks. Denny's satisfies at that part but I guess you can say I base the rating on atomposhere and the waiters. Due to the fact that the Denny's in Serramonte is like the Mos Eisley of the PEninsula, the waiters are very uncaring, but I don't blame them since they have to deal with Dine and Dashers all the time. PLus i'm sure they make shit in tips, but I'm guilty of that also. The Atmosphere is terrible, espcially with all the club goers drunks off their asses and yeling at each other. It doesnt help that every sentence ends with a certain N word. IF your really hardcore, go to the IHOP by fishermans wharf. Great servoce!

Just for the fact that they are always be there when we are hungry (a.k.a. open 24 hours) this place should be rewarded one star. Sure, Denny's is not a "high-class" restaurant, but it is not a "tourist trap" either like Mel's Diner. It is friendly for kids. The price of the food is moderate and they give you a lot of food. Entree always comes with 2 sides. Onion rings were good. French fries were good. Oh, the garlic bread sucks badly though. First time we thought the bread just happened to be stale that day but then when we came back the next visit a week after, the bread still tasted the same. Hopefully, they realize that and change the type of bread they use. This branch has a waitress that is our favorite. Unfortunately we don't know her name but she's the one who looks like Asian (or Latina?) with long black hair tied back. She's a bit slow but she is super nice, always checking on us and brought the stuff we need. i.e. when we wanted to dip our fries in ranch dressing, she would bring a medium size bowl of ranch. Or, when I wanted extra country gravy for my chicken fried steak, she never gave me attitude. She even told us it's better coming on Saturday or Tuesday because Kids Eat Free. Oh, one thing, don't order their steak though. If you ask for medium rare, a good chance you would get a "leather" (a.k.a. past well-done). They were nice enough to care to cook you another one though the second time around, the steak still came out to be well-done. Then you would feel like you didn't want to spend another 15 minutes waiting for another food and just quietly ate what you had. Then again, it is still "our fault" to order steak at Denny's. Denny's is no steakhouse!

the only time i go to Denny's is after the clubs or when ever my ex wants to eat french toast. but i till you. the food is awesome and you couldn't get any safer with the two big black security guards with one carrying a .357 and a.45. the reason I'll give only 3 stars is because of the wait. but besides that and the people that comes in, everything is not bad. the service is friendly and fast and did i mention the food is awesome.

Should of read the reviews before I made the stop to this Denny's. The server was a young dude who seemed like he is learning. No biggie.. The issue I had was the cook who can't cook scramble eggs, hash browns, or ham. The last time I will come to this Denny's.

Paid this place a visit after a long hiatus..I Came in during late afternoon..not busy..not like the time during the late night weekends or Sunday mornings when this place can be packed..it's really nice inside now after the remodel..clean carpet now..new booths, they changed it to a modern look..today My stomach is loaded with hash browns, French toast, bacon, eggs, nachos etc..I'm so full and the servings was more than I could take..was seated less than 2 minutes after I came in..water served right away..attentive staff, Alyssa was very nice and kept coming by to check if I needed refill or how I was doing..I didn't encounter any rude staff today..it was calm inside..not bad for the price I paid..will definitely come back here if I'm craving for another breakfast plate..

Sometimes I question the decision I make in life. Like that time when I decided to go out and eat instead of studying for my calculus finals the next day (still got an A don't worry:). Or that time when I asked my boy roommate to do my make up, came out looking like a clown. BUT dining here was by far the dumbest decision I ever made. 1. The MANAGER sat us next to smelly restroom when there were so many other booths available 2. 15 min and no one acknowledged us 3. Someone said they will come right away to take our order when I went up to the counter to complain but another person didn't come until 10 minutes later. 4. Food took 35 minutes to come and it wasn't that busy. It was just me and le bf with one order. 5. Food came before coffee 6. Waitress did not know what juice selection they had... Really? 7. Waiters and waitresses were arguing right in front of us about not taking the job seriously. Unprofessional. Take it in the back room. 8. Hear a big complain from customer on the table behind me about wrong order 9. Guy at cashier didn't know how to work it....-_- mmmmm...kay... Anyways got a grand slam slugger $8

Honestly, this is the first time I've ever received such horrible customer service at a restaurant. After coming here for so many years this is the first time I've been so annoyed and angry at our waiter. Our waiter Nicholas was beyond horrible. After ordering our food, it literally took 20-30 mins for our food. In restaurants it's understandable to wait but for our order? It was simple yet easy. I simply order a build my own burger with ( beef patty, cheddar bun, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, mayo ) what did I get? I got a ( beef patty, cheddar bun, Swiss mushrooms, and lettuce) like does lettuce sound like grilled onions to you? It's completely different dude! My Friend ordered an egg for his burger, he said over easy and Nicholas said okay. So my friend waited for about 15 mins, and Nicholas came back and asked "How would you like your egg cooked?" And my friend said " uh over easy?" Nicholas goes oh okay. Another 15 mins later, I said excuse me! And I asked him sooo, are we gonna get our grilled onions or the egg? Nicholas goes " ohh, uhh I didn't place in the order. Like seriously? How hard is it to place in the order and just wait for the cook to ring the bell? Honestly I've never been so upset before, and for something this easy is just unacceptable. * Doesn't smile * Doesn't ask "is everything okay?" * Does not know how to take orders correctly Why are you even working here? You don't even know how to do your job. I do not recommended coming to this Denny's what's so ever. If you want horrible service and the wrong order then go for it. Find a different Denny's. If there was a 0-star then that's most definitely my choose.

You come here hungry, expect to have that feeling extended threefold. The food was pretty much Denny's - greasy diner food that may may not give you diarrhea a few hours later. But this Denny's? This Denny's is the worst one ever. The servers are inattentive and will delay your order or request just because. I mean, whoever manages this place should manage it better. I also heard some of the servers gossiping about one of them as well. Anyhow, bad service is bad. :P

The tables were dirty. The tables next to us were dirty. The server was nice but the sticky chairs and tables just really grossed me out. The food was decent. I was disappointed there wasnt any fruit available.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How is it possible that EVERYTIME I come here these idiots know how to piss me off and get my order wrong on ALL occasions. Is it seriously that hard to write down what we tell you? It's seriously just taking notes! How is it possible to get it wrong? And on top of that. Our waiter NICHOLAS was hiding from us because he KNEW he kept getting our orders wrong. HE'S A HORRIBLE SERVER!

    (1)
  • Eli E.

All chairs was greasy, we transferred twice and still couldn't really rest your back or head coz every chair was nasty. Underneath the table was filthy with food crumbs. How does a diner like yours pass the food and health inspection?

  • Angie A.

I waited a long time for my order but that wasn't really the problem. They were very busy so I knew it would be a long wait. My complaint is that my food was cold! It was cooked well and I bet my sausage and eggs would've been delicious, had they not been cold! If you're going to take extra time to serve customers, at least consider that the food might be cold by the time it gets to the table. They were just too busy for me to be patient enough to ask for my food to be re-heated. It's a shame because Denny's is an institution for American breakfast.

  • Abhijit P.

They always make you wait even if the tables are empty. Takes too long to serve. ...im waiting for 15 minutes now and they still havent come to take my order.

  • Josh W.

Came here for dinner with my family. First thing I noticed was their lack of waiters/waitress. We had 5 in our party and their were clearly empty tables but we had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we got our drinks, however when we were ready to order it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. We had to get the waitress attention in order for her to take our order. When we had finished our food, we had some leftover food that we wanted to take home but they said they ran out of to go boxes....which is pretty surprising. Overall the service was pretty bad, only good thing was the food.

  • Leo M.

A very busy location with very bad service. Coffee came half spilled onto the table, no cutlery given, hard to get waiter's attention and overall inattentive customer service. I might give the location a try after a couple other half-year greasey breakfast cravings bring me back....I hope I find a better breakfast place by then.

This place is TERRIBLE! The service is horrendous and highly disorganized! NEVER again. I will start going to IHOP from now on.

Moment I stepped in the restaurant, I was never greeted... or acknowledged. Stood there for 10 minutes till I had to sit in the waiting area... still, nothing. So, me and my girlfriend got up and left. Worse Dennys I have ever been to.

  • John C.

When you go to a place like Denny's, you don't go to expect anything unusual. you go under the assumption that you will get what you order every time, every.. single .. time. So this review has nothing to do with food, because I usually eat a country fried steak in some shape or form. I made the mistake of ordering togo. I got a side of Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and garlic bread. I didn't get my garlic bread! now, you can understand how frustrating that is when you are paying 13 dollars for dinner. Hopefully they get it right next time, although the guy at the front looked like he was fairly new.

  • Katarina F.

Whether you're drunk or sober I do like going here for good cheap comfort food. They used to have a mozzarella stick grilled cheese in their 2468 menu but now it's gone. I love their seasoned fries and hot chocolate BUT sometimes the person making the hot chocolate makes it too watered down so just gotta let them know not to do that.

The service has gotten worst ever since the new manager at night came in. He is some tall Caucasian guy, and it has nothing to do with his race it's his service. One time I came here and he was my waiter; he left me and my family for 30 minutes and never checked on us. When he brought my food it was cold, so I asked him to take it back and he didn't even apologize or nothing he just took it back. You all are probably wondering why I gave it three stars. It's because other than him, the service is good. There is a gentleman named Gal that served and he was on point. Everything we wanted was given to us on a silver platter. The best service ever from a Denny's waiter.

  • Samantha M.

Don't come between 1am & 4am on the weekends unless you want to wait 45 minutes. But do order breakfast any time of the day.

  • Camila R.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Denny's is a joke. On a Monday? At 10am? Should've been in and out. Oh no.. Food took 25+ minutes to come out, probably because our waiter took on too many tables at once He only came to the table with my food, my Boyfriends waffle wasn't even ready yet, my French toast was hard & cold, my over easy eggs weren't cooked all the way, the 2 bacon strips equaled 1 normal strip and crumbled in your mouth in one bite, the hash browns probably didn't even equal to 1 cup and you could tell they were frozen from a package ..the only thing that was a success was the water & coffee. Very disappointing, I will never come back. Waste of time and money. Family owned places are the way to go.

  • Catherine N.

So... I'd give them 1 star for the food and the service, because really the service is dreadful. I mean it takes way too much effort to get anything done, and like if you get any chef other than this one particular dude, your eggs are going to be terrible just terrible. So I am at the point of my life where I just check for the chef. If it is the right guy, I get my eggs, otherwise it is chicken strips, which are actually quite good. I just wish it didn't take so long to get refills on drinks. But what makes me a fan of denny's is the saying "No one goes to Denny's, you end up there." And this location is most definitely the perfect location for such adventures. It is right off the freeway, around the corner from an In-N-Out, so it is the perfect choice for all those bar hoppers who just missed out on the deliciousness that is In-n-Out, and it is San Mateo County which has a curfew law so yup minors need to be home or a restaurant. So yes the people watching alone is what warrants the 4 stars. Things I have seen, are great in number and I never fail to leave Denny's with inspiration for a new story. Be it old men motorcycle crew versus young men bicyclists co-op brawl or yet another foiled dine and dash, it is never boring to go to this particular Denny's.

The family and I had a great 4pm dinner. You have to check out Enrique. He is a jamming server!!!!! He really took care of us. ASK US TO COME BACK And SEE HIM!!! Can't wait.

    (3)
  • Chris O.

Service here is pretty bad. You wait 10-20 minutes for them to offer you drinks. You then wait another 30-45 minutes for your food. Second time this happened. I really just wanted my food so we waited. :( Don't really know what the problem is. They seem to have at least 4 dining room workers every time including the host.

Thought I'd stop in for my free birthday Grand Slam. Now, I know one does not expect fine dining at Denny's, but a 20-minute wait for pancakes? The meal arrived cold, except the pancakes felt like they'd been nuked (had to literally cut them with a knife, inside 1" really hot). Sent them back. Got another plate, same thing. Sent them back. Finally a manager got involved and I guess stood over the cook while s/he cooked them. At last, an edible pancake. Oh, and I had to ask twice for syrup, which one would assume comes with pancakes. Bacon was two pencil-sized strips, sausage on the small side as well. I guess I got what I paid for! It's two stars because the server was very good, very helpful, very polite.

  • Simi J.

The service was horrible. We walked in and a waitress named Vanessa refused to help us. We asked to be seated, and she very rudely told us to wait. My friend and I casually talked about getting a booth, and Vanessa rudely interrupted and told us she wasn't seating anyone in booths. So a waiter named David seated us. He was very kind and helpful. However, it was taking everyone about 40mins to get their food so my friend and I left. If you are reallllyyy hungry and don't have time for bullshit, don't go here.

Came here after watching a movie thinking it would be ok, we ordered and literally got everything wrong asked the waiter 3 different f-ing times still never came to give us our s*** and still never put in our orders after coming back 3 f-ing times like seriously damn no one come here!!!! Don't step in this establishment like we got our check and still the things that we ordered in the first place is still on the check and we never received it.......SMH!!!

well first off let me say that i went there at 230 am and it was pretty busy for a Sunday night, one server and fairly quick service. My complaint was on how dirty the place was. I have 10 plus years in restaurant business and wow i have never seen anything like that. I honestly feel as if the floor had not been swept or vacuumed in over 72 hours. i have never seen anything like it. The bathrooms were dirty as well. I ordered biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. Food came out, gravy was as white as snow and sausage looked like the sausage that goes on pizza (lol) first biscuit was ok, the second one was hard as a rock and after i was able to penetrate it with my fork it crumbled apart. I will never go to this location again. Theres a Dennys in South City and I will try this one next time! My complaint is one the appearance of the place and the food. Seems like the management isn't doing their job. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. YUCK

I come here with the fellas for a post workout meal. Everytime we come, we get the same server Heba... This incompetent ingrates service is sub par. You ask for certain items and it takes her 20mins to receive it. She only becomes friendly when she brings the bill only to butter you up for a tip... FDB

Found a hair in my food. And very poor service. The waitress was talking to her friends at another table rather then attending us. Worst place I've been to.

This is a review in regards to other Denny's. Personally, all Denny's rank very low on my scale, but I have been to enough to know which are better than others. This is one of the nicer Denny's I have been to. It's clean and the seating is not cramped. Bathrooms are okay and not a lot of weirdos hanging out.

Friends and I came here to catch up over dinner. First of all, the service was horrible. It took us awhile to flag down a worker just to get seated. It took them almost an hour just to get us seated which should have alarmed us, but we decided to be patient and wait it out. After we were finally seated, there were some people from our party that weren't provided utensils, so they just grabbed some off the table next to ours. Waiter came to take our order which was fine. When he came to deliver our drinks he got some of them wrong, but a majority of us didn't want to bother so we just stuck with the drinks that were given to us. The wait for our food was an hour long. As we were waiting, we heard arguments coming from the kitchen area and witnessed two employees having a very heated argument with one another - yikes! When our food finally came, my friend's hush puppies came out completely burned. When he complained to the staff, they dismissed it as the blueberry batter giving it a dark, burnt color. Really? We aren't dumb -_- This isn't the only time either. Every single time I've been to this Denny's the service just sucks. I will no longer be returning to this Denny's due to their lack of exceptional service and (looking through previous reviews as well as my own experience) they always seem to burn their customers' food.

This one star goes out to this one woman working there late nights. She claims her eyes are blue but they look like contacts, dark skin, and the absolute WORST attitude. She is so rude that she even points at customers as she is talking about them! My friends & I went in on a friday night and one of the guys we were with can be pretty annoying and obnoxious... And this waitress thought it would be okay to talk trash about our table and she just gave us toooo much attitude. This 1 star goes to that rude woman, get your your attitude together.

  • Vikki G.

Had some out-of-town visitors and came to have some food food on a Friday night since it was close to home. We put in our name for a group of 6 and 5min later a party of 5 came in and got seated right away. We complained and ended up being seated in a booth that was designed for 4 people. While waiting the party of 5 got their drink and food order in while we had yet to be recognized. 10min later we got seated at a bigger table. 15min after that we complained about no one taking our drink order and finally got greeted. When out food order was take the waitress hurried and skipped one person. I went to the back and told her she did not take everyone's order. She came back and took his order in a hurry and left in the middle of his order. He was not done ordering and did not even bother complaining anymore. Such horrible service here. Food was fine, service was horrible!!!

When I think of Denny's, I think Grand Slam Breakfast. I think free entree on birthdays. I think of not being able to sleep at ungodly hours of the night and deciding to go here because it's either this or iHop. I think 2:30am in the morning and the kids from the club are a couple tables from me laughing loud, playing with their straws and cellphones. Coming here today I had a cringe on my face when Denny's was mentioned as an idea for lunch/breakfast. I'm not a fan of the breakfast, it's really not good IMO. But in defense to this restaurant, this place is always packed with people, the service is quick, and there are about 1,600 Denny's so they must be doing something right. So here's what we ordered: Ultimate Omelette: this was my friend's order. She liked it but I still think in the breakfast category we are really spoiled out here. Having an omelette here is like downgrading from a Lexus to a Corolla. Still driveable or edible in this case, just not as good. And the hashbrowns, don't get me started... Double Cheeseburger: this is where I was blown away. Denny's makes a more than decent burger. No frozen patties here. Fresh tasting, greasy, huge burgers. Not what I expected at all. The upgrade to seasoned fries is worth the extra 59 cents. Fresh lettuce, tomato, red onions, along with cheese melted on the burger. I would be willing to come again and have a burger at Denny's if suggested we go there. Like I said previously the service is always decent. Definitely better during the day. The employees at night I imagine get a lot of nonsense from the drunk unruly patrons so my experience tends to be not as good service-wise at night but I don't hold it against them. So now after my experience at Denny's today. Not only do i think Grand Slam and late night munchies. But also good burger.

Don't want to give it any stars. Had a group of four people. Clearly saw there were open seats but took them 45 minutes to seat us. They sat us near the bathroom and it smelled. Then it took so long to get our order. The waitress was rude and kept coming back to only ask my bf if he needed anything. What a you know!! Me and my friends left them no tip and did the cup trick if you guys know what that is lol

    (1)
  • Maxwell T.

The seating service is weak. They seat everyone with small parties even if you've been waiting longer than others. I've been waiting in line for 45 minutes with a party of 11 and they have sat 5-7 parties of 2-5 people within this time. To me this is unfair.

There's piss in the ladies room ON TOP of the toilets. My boyfriend went to use the restroom and he stepped in urine. This is the most disgusting Denny's I've ever been to.

Had to wait 30mins for the red white & blue. Didn't look like the ad. The eggs were under cooked and the service was terrible can you imagine pancakes that cut like card board. I've had enough of Demnys.

If it weren't for my dear father, who is way too easy to please, I would never eat at this Denny's. We've eaten hear before as a pitstop on our way to SFO. Pros: + No food poisoning + Plenty of spaces in the parking lot (it says something!) Cons: - Quality/quantity of food is sub-standard compared to what you pay for - Booth seats torn to shreds (see picture I uploaded) - Dirty floor - Cook on the cell phone. Friendly waitress, that's it. The only redeeming part of this Denny's is that the waitress that served us was very friendly. Nonetheless, that still can't overcome the many, many negatives which makes this location a dog. Avoid it, as there are plenty of better options in the area unless you're stuck with your folks who are addicted to Denny's. :-)

If you plan to go at night, DO NOT GO. I REPEAT DO NOT GO. WORST SERVICE EVER! I went with a group of 5 guys around 12am. We sat down, received our menus, but our server didn't come back until 15 minutes later. After ordering, it took about an hour to receive our food. Oh and we received our milk shakes after we finished our meal. Never going back unless there's a zombie invasion and that's the only place available to go to. Btw their manager yelled at my friends when we were leaving because we didn't tip them.

== Food == Denny's an alright place to have breakfast. You can't really screw up breakfast foods, but there's plenty of room to make it excellent. This isn't one of those places. The food comes slightly warm. They make a pretty alright poached eggs, but t

Worst customer service ever!!! The black girl (courtney) who works here seems like she is on meth and didn't give us any napkins or silverware. Didn't ask if we would like anything to drink. Wow.. To top it off I saw what looked to be a manager (tall white guy) pick up a order from the kitchen and eat two fries off a customers plate as he walked over to serve it to a customer. I guess Denny's hires street people with drug problems now.... This place is the worst I have seen in a very long time. Can't believe this Denny's with these types of people are in a nice mall (serramonte) complex. Don't need to go into detail about the horrible food, I will let you judge that. If you like your server throwing your change at you this is place to go. Courtney need to learn to be a civilized person and grow some manners. whoever owns this Denny's needs a reality check!!!

  • Nathan I.

Slow service and they screw up your orders. If you looking at getting a quick bite you can forget about this place! After seated it took at least 25 minutes for a server to as for drinks and that was after we flagged someone down. We entered the place A little after six and didn't leave until well passed eight. This place is horrible.

I have been to this location a few times. I like breakfast food no matter what time of the day! The GF and I came here on a Sunday at around lunch time. Who knew it would be packed with people. There were so many parties waiting for tables. I gave my name to the hostess and he said the wait would be fifteen to twenty minutes. I set my alarm to fifteen minuets and we waited in my car. Fifteen minutes pass, and we go back inside Denny's. I ask how much longer would we have to wait. He states that he already called my name 5-10 minutes. That's not on me, he said 15 to 20 minutes. Learn how to better judge time. I bet he says 15-20 minutes to everyone. Anyways, he reluctantly tells me that we will be seated next. How nice of him, I guess.,. We are seated in an extension of the main dining area, behind the kitchen. It is a quiet area compared to the main dining area. We have plenty of time to look over the menu- in fact too much time. There is only one server working that whole area and she is slow as nails, and all the tables around us seem to need something. They need to have more staff working, especially since it is so busy. I ordered the build your own grand slam with eggs, pancakes, and hashbrowns. The GF ordered the "Hobbit Hole" which was a limited time offer from their special menu in honor of the Hobbit movie. It came with bacon, an egg filled bagel, and I think hashbrowns. We also shared an Oreo Blaster milkshake. The time for our food to come took just ask long as it did for our server to take our order, if not longer. The food was average breakfast food. You cannot expect too much from Denny's. Bad service. Average food.

Would be zero stars if I can rate lower. First of all the fucking door flies wide open with a slight tug. The dick head manager was super rude to the tweaker waitress who completely ruined our order (is it that hard to learn the menu at Denny's?). My girlfriend ordered the club sandwich with hash browns, she received pancakes with a moons over my hammy sandwich. I ordered the original grand slam with scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes and bacon but received eggs over easy and sausage and hash browns. The waitress didn't write any of this down, which is probably why the order was wrong, but her manager was such a dick to her we were appalled and tipped her 30% and they were out of fucking Oreo Shake mix...frickin newbs. Plus I felt like I was eating a boot instead of pancakes, like that three stooges episode.

this review is for the restaurant only. located at serramonte center the resto is usually packed. u have to wait at least 15 minutes for breakfast depending on how early you arrived. no problem with parking. service is good and the waiters are pleasant. unlike other dennys location, I can consider dennys serramonte as one of the pleasant ones. the only issue is the long wait if you happen to came in by 10am other than that its all good.

A meal is always a wonderful experience if you have cheerful and happy servers. Our server (an asian female) was unattentive, did not greet us at all. We were seated for about 5 minutes or more before she even came to our table but I could see her running around passing us by and did not even acknowledge us. I had to ask another server as to who was our server, that's when she came and took our order. NO SMILE, NO GREETING, NOTHING!!! Terrible experience. Our order was just a cobb salad and a sandwich and I had to ask the busboy to even check on our order which took well over 10 minutes. Then it was another waitress that served it to us. Such a terrible experience.!!

Well here I go again rating this place. My mom & I went here a few days ago after we finished our errands to have a late lunch. 1st, I like the new look & 2nd the service from my waiter, JAMES K. was horrible. He took forever to take my order, never came over to see if everything was OK, and didn't even ask me if I wanted a refill on my soda or even to refill my mother's water. I know that it was slightly busy, but I seem to either hit or miss on the place. Otherwise, everything was fine. I definately MISS THE WESTBOROUGH DINER!

Foods great and perfect every time I go. Place is clean. However, I honestly think that the employees don't get enough credit for their hard work. Today, i witnesses a server being mistreated by rude customers over petty little things. The waitress was attentive and quick but the customer was really something. I come here when it's busy and it can get pretty crowded. I don't mind the wait but sometimes people around me get impatient and start to nag the poor host while he's trying to multitask. I honestly believe that Denny's is about putting the customer first, but I think the employees should be acknowledged and for their hard work. Overall, I love this joint and I will definitely be coming back.

I think their service needs improvement. I love Denny's and all.. But only for my cravings for French toast or pancakes. But last time I came here was around 12am? It wasn't even busy... But my order really took more than an hour. It's so sad having to wait for your food for an hour... I could've made some at home ):

Walked in today for breaakfaat for dinner. How the eff ur gonna tell me that ur ass is short staff when u have two other servers who sees u and did not greet u at all? I feel like I have been ignored and did not get a table. The dude with glasses said they are short staff and the wait is going to be half an hour. Um.... there are a lot of empty tables and ur waiter and waitresses just walked passed me 3 times! So not coming back for sure.

  • Crystal L.

The wait may be a long wait but when the food comes out, it's worth it. I come here many times for drunk food but regular dinner is a good visit also. Their menu is just a regular American menu from omelets to burgers to skillets. The price range I would say is maybe $$ but the service here can be awesome. Give them a break! I think Denny's rocks!

I never expect any so called quality service or such from fast food restaurants, but after a long wait at a relatively empty restaurant, they gave us seats and...that's the end of it, we waited 30 minutes and nobody came by to check in with us, not even some water. Left on the spot and I'd rather be going to a mcdonalds next time

Tried placing my order over the phone but no one ever picked up even after several attempts at calling. Got small portions not to mention the wrong soup. Don't go here during mad rushes as the staff will not pay attention to you. Oh did I mention you have to beg to get your check otherwise they won't volunteer to give it to you. Best to order take out and avoid the bad dining experience and misery of over crowdedness and year long short staff like operation.

OMG bypass this place! We hadn't been since the renovation. Went this am. Horrible food. Ordered the Fit Omelet: cold, spinach was not even stemmed aka raw, mushrooms raw and onions were burnt. It was if they cleaned the grill and put it in my egg whites. Husband had Ultimate omelet and same thing: cold, cheese wasn't even melted, burnt onions. Plus we ordered food and coffee to go. Coffee cup had a hole in bottom and they had no forks for to go food. What?!!! The bathroom was filthy as in horrible grossness on toilets and my breakfast went right thru. Will never return. GROSS!!!

its dennys... tastes the same no matter where you are... im paying aversge price for average food... but the service is extra bad here... at least during rush times... the staff has a manager just yelling an they are rushed so badly that they make mistakes... everyone that works here seem to be in a bad mood

Horrible customer service. Waited 20 min to get our orders taken &everyone around us who were seated after us had their orders already taken. Plus servers here are rude. A man was stating that he had been waiting for 20 min as well &another table that had been seated had their orders taken immediately &the waitress straight up yelled "someone tend to him, he's complaining! He's already mad." Like I understand it's busy but really? Disrespectful filipino ladies.

I've been here twice . . . the first time, I was on my way back into the city and starving. It was crowded, messy, and smelled of BO. I just ordered pancakes and coffee. I got my coffee first . . . The second time, I was with some foreign friends who had been shopping at Serramonte. We all ordered fish and shrimp . . . it was very bad. Yes, it is Denny's, but come on. I expected the food to be somewhat good. The fish and shrimp looked pathetic. It looked like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for sometime. I'm not sure how to describe it, but the batter was thick and tasteless. The shrimp looked like popcorn chicken. The only good thing was the veggies and mashed potatoes. The server was very friendly and fast. We had a party of 5.

This...is....Dennys. A pretty good one, late night breakfast food. They should always do the Hobbit breakfast, it is silly and delicious

I haven't written a Yelp review in years until now. And this is to write a negative review. I've always gone to Denny's for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner, most especially during my high school years not having a lot of money and knowledge on what good food meant. Now that I'm older I come here simply for convenience. This most recent visit to Denny's was by far the worst I've had. First, I was seated with my daughter by a friendly host. But that was where the good service ended. There was a couple of older ladies who were seated across of us minutes after we sat down and someone immediately tended to them and got their drinks down. I, on the other hand, was patiently sitting there with my daughter, unamused at the fact that we were still waiting for service. Finally, someone took our order down and a couple minutes later our drinks arrived. My cup of coffee had food stuck on the side of the mug, as well as the little pitcher of cream. As soon as the food arrived, that was the end of our service. Not once did anyone check on us to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything else. I waited a good 15 minutes for someone to check in on us and to ask for the bill, but I got so frustrated at the lack of attention that I went straight to the cashier and paid. I didn't even bother to leave a tip because I was that upset. One star for horrible service and lack of cleanliness. Food is mediocre, but what can you expect from a mainstream diner. I'd rather pay a little more money for good food and good service. I'm definitely not coming here again.

Worst Denny's visit ever for me. Long wait although the restaurant not that full, very poor service and to top it poorly served/cooked food. Never again here!

My review goes out to MATT who was our server for the night. We ended up at Denny's Friday. When we arrived around 9 pm barely anyone was there. We were seated and given the menus then introduced to our server who was wonderful. While waiting for our food, the restaurant began to fill quickly and you can see that they were understaffed with servers. Though there were lots of people that Matt had to attend to, he still made the effort in making sure we enjoyed our food and got whatever we needed.

I was glad to see that they have remodeled since my last review! The inside is pretty much the same layout but the dining tables and the carpets are new! No more sticky tables and floors! Our waitress seemed pretty cool! She checked up on us twice to see how we were doing so that's a plus! It's great that they're trying to improve!

I don't understand why this Denny's continues to get worse and worse with customer service. The food I'll say I've never had a complaint about and that's probably why I continue to go here every once and awhile. But after last night no more! Last night while I was dining with family, my husband texted me wanting me to bring him home food. So being that I couldn't get the waitresses attention (maybe she was looking for the Splenda I asked for 2xs) I went to the front to place an order. I was ignored by every single person walking by (the hostess was on the phone but in customer service you at least make eye contact and smile to say I'll be with you in a min) no biggie I went an sat back down at the table. Finally got the waitress and placed an order for the food and a smoothie. My daughter who is 4 received a smoothie took a drink and immediately her eyes started to water and told me her throat burned!! I stuck my finger in her smoothie and it was warm....as we left I asked the manager to remake the smoothie that it was warm. He looked at me like I was stupid. I told him I wasn't crazy that this smoothie was warm and it burned my daughter. He continues to look at me like he's confused and I'm an idiot and then says "I'm not crazy either" ummm where was my apology? He was so annoyed that I asked for another smoothie and the fact that I called him on his RUDE body language and comments! Then when he hands me the smoothie tells me it is cold...I said the smoothie was like it didn't have ice in it last time...his response "yeah probably" WTF?! Seriously still no apology or even comp on the smoothie because it was wrong AND burned my daughters throat! I'll go across town to another Denny's or up the hill to somewhere else where they value their customers.

It has re open last night after 1 week to remodel! they could have left a notice. That would have been common procedure. We're glad to have them back for Christmas! OPPS!!! Computer glitz. Got there at7:45a. But they're closed again. Manager said maybe later or tomarrow.

Thank you to Enrique O for great service this morning. I also watched him work his section and he was equally great with kids, squatting down to be on eye level with them. The kids reaction was appreciative, as well. My breakfast was next to perfect. Four stars instead of 5 because they need to figure out some better coffee, please! I would recommend Serramonte Denny's now with the lovely redesign and some great people, including Alaa, a former student! Job well done, and I hope this staff will continue to take pride in their work, making their guests' eating experiences pleasant and satisfying.

This is my FIRST YELP REVIEW EVER, and the only reason I'm giving the review is for the amazing service I've had by a young man named VICTOR. When I was pregnant last year, I used to come every once in a while when I would get the weird pregnancy cravings. Almost every time I went, I was taken care of by Victor. He has always been so helpful and consistent. Every time I've had him as a server, I've had a great experience. And at this Denny's that doesn't happen all the time. Since i also work with the public, I always pay attention to great customer service. Tonight we started off with no one helping us. Then he took over for whatever reason and we had a great rest of our visit. Not sure if he will ever see this but if he's reading, keep up the great work Victor! You're doing a great job! Your hard work is greatly appreciated! Keep smiling :)

The food is good, but the service is unacceptable. From the moment I stepped in to the time I walked out, I had a bad customer service experience. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty, the waiting area was full of people because there was no host available. When I ordered my food, my waitress read my order back to me, and it was wrong. And she insisted that I was the one in the wrong! She never even checked up on me to see if I liked the food, and she also forgot part of my order. Go to another Denny's, and don't waste your time at this location.

Dennys hooks you up for the low. I usually find myself ordering off the value menu and it keeps me content and satisfied. Haven't really ordered anything that isn't a salad, breakfast food, or drink so I can only speak on those. If you only have a few bucks You can find yourself a good meal here!

I honestly thought I was being punked. It took 55 minutes to get my food and when it came, it looks like someone had run out of real cheese and mixed strange goop cheese on top of my stale, cold, and lifeless nachos. It was absolutely the worst dining experience of my life. Denny's as a whole is OK but for some reason this location is the absolute worst. And all of this is coming from a pretty patient former waiter of 5 years.. Our waiter had like 8 tables and was overwhelmed.. only to see the manager calmly walking by without a ounce of care of teamwork in him. We didn't eat a thing and instead chalked up the $25 to the US Economy and literally went somewhere else for dinner.

This dynamic has a love/hate relationship with Denny's, with the male component having a scaring experience and the female component loving them. This particular location offers standard Denny's fare, but better than most. We came here for breakfast twice, and left satisfied each time. We opted for the Sausage Slam and the Build Your Own Slam, and while the eggs are a bit too greasy... everything else is good and filled us up for cheap. Overall, one of the better Denny's locations, and your buck will go far here like it does at others.

I`m giving this place 5 stars for one reason only: a waitress named Sonia. She only works graveyard shifts and she is the sweetest ever! Every time I come in here and shes there she hooks it up with the best service! One night I literally see only her around, why is she alone?! Where did her co-workers go?! She`s there busting her ass off helping me and the other customers. Anyways the food... always good! I wasn`t really hungry one night and ordered the sampler with the raspberry sweet tea. About 10 minutes later she gave me my food, hot and fresh, she even asked me what kind of sauce I wanted instead of giving me ranch or ketchup like other restaurants would do. ...and honestly besides her, I don`t really bother. Last time I came here with one of my bff's and the service I got from this waiter was really whack! I ordered chicken strips and the guy literally only gave me chicken strips! Wheres my celery? wheres my sauce? You didn`t even offer me sauce! Did you really think I was just going to eat it alone? After serving the food to us he didn`t even bother to visit my table unless it was for the check... gosh -_-

Having recently moved to California from England my husband and I have visited Denny's a fair few times on holiday's so kind of know what to expect - fairly decent breakfast for cheap. So not being bothered make breakfast late one morning we came by here and I swear - never again. We first had trouble locating it as our sat nav directed us to somewhere it wasn't so we looked up their number and gave them a call hoping to get directions. The person who answered the phone just couldn't understand what we were asking and my husband had to try explain 5 times until they passed the phone to someone else. We finally got out directions and were pleased to find it wasn't busy when we arrived. Upon arrival we were given our table and the server walked off. It took 10 minutes just to get someone's attention for us to order a drink and then a further 9 (yes, I timed it) to receive them. When the drinks finally arrived (13 minutes later) we tried to tell the server we were ready to order but he simply put the drinks on the table and walked off! I had OJ and my husband a Strawberry shake in a glass - no tin like it's advertised. It then took a further 16 minutes to get another's attention for us to order and the waitress certainly didn't seem at all pleased to be there. Not the usual friendly service we're used to. We both ordered Grand slams and my husband also ordered one of their specials - pancake balls. I don't know exactly what they were called. When the Grand Slams came the breakfast looked ok but upon further inspection the eggs ere not cooked how we asked (mmm raw egg anyone?) and trying to get attention of a server to get it fixed was useless. No less than 3 members of staff looked directly at us and ignored us!! The pancake balls were also burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Nobody checked back to see if the meal was ok or if we needed extra drinks. I had even been sitting since our food came with an empty glass! In the end was so annoyed we grabbed someone's attention to ask for the bill, paid and left after eating just half of our meal. We were there well over an hour and had about 5 bites of nasty food. The worst experience of Denny's ever. ** Birthday Tip ** Visit on your Birthday and get a free Entree.

THIS GOES TO THE EMPLOYEES***** I give it up to them & I'm sure they are not getting accommodated for their hard work. Me and my sisters went last night to eat here because IHOP was closed. And I have to say I'm happy they were closed. As I entered into Denny's it was crowded at the door because there were two parties waiting to be seated and both parties were 7+ people. Though it was busy the HOST greeted me kindly and kept reassuring me he will be right with me (Latin gentlemen). He had a warm smile and spoke very calm even though it was really busy. He never had me waiting with NOT knowing what he is doing and he will be right with me. Another party of comes in which is a party of 2 and seem very impatient (trying to get seated before me) and kept pouting wondering why the other employees are not helping them. Mind you the other waitresses are busy with customers who been there. I took a look in the kitchen and saw 1 chef. Now I was starting to worry with all the people here and only 1 chef?!?!....We finally got seated it was about a 10 min wait no biggie we were hungry and no where in a rush. As we were seated the waitress took awhile to come back. Now that being said it was only because she was helping the two parties of 7+ people and making drinks, grabbing food for others, seating people, and accommodating everyone at the tables. When she finally got to us she was very apologetic and there was no way to be upset especially because of her hustle. There was not enough staff it was her (Short brown/blond hair, tanned skin, pretty rings one of them said LOVE) and a Asian boy with blond short hair and black glasses ( He as well did his thing very cool calm and collective at a buys hour. Back to being worried about our 1 Chef issue. We ordered and in no time our food was served. We were very shocked because the wait time for our food was actually quicker than we thought. Not only did it come quick but it was prepared very nicely and tasted delicious. HOST under pressure, WAITRESS under pressure, & CHEF under pressure but over all GREAT TEAMWORK. Hustled under pressure and handled situations in class. OK there were times of a little frustration but behind the scenes but caught by my observing self. It's OK though because if we were all in the same situation we would act the same way. I eat here all the time but I have to say there was no way I was going to not YELP this. There were other people there that could of jumped in and helped but they kept moping around. Good Job Dennys Employees!

This specific Denny's is a real special one to my heart so let me tell you all about it. After an evening spending some time in Daly City, my father and I decided to go to this Denny's to get something to eat since it was late and on the way home. I usually don't order a soda or juice because well, it's too much sugar and why pay $3 for a drink? Save some money for the Moons Over My Hammy you know? Anyways, we get water and I take a sip and something miraculous happens. The water isn't tap water but I think it's water from the toilet. Not from the restroom sink but from the actual toilet bowl itself. This water was so bad, that if I were in the desert and this was the only thing to drink, I'd rather thirst and bite a cactus. The water that is provided at this location is horrendous. The taste of the water is so undesirable and disgusting I am surprised I didn't get sick. I am now forever scared to order water unless I know it's a restaurant that cares about it's customers health.

I'm literally shaking my head as I'm writing this review. I swore to myself that I would never come back here but I thought I'd give it one more try since they remodeled and added more stuff to their menu. Came in with my sister tonight to grab some late night munchies. She has the Le Cordon Bleu ...it had a piece of hair all wrapped up in the french fries. We called our server over and he was stuttering like he didn't know what to say. He bought her over another one made fresh. I ordered the chicken strips "smothered" in buffalo sauce. There were barely any buffalo sauce on that chicken. I had asked for a side of buffalo sauce. When we needed our server for something, he was nowhere to be found. When we don't need him, he comes to check on us. -.- I asked for the check and saw that there was a discount on the check for my sister's plate because of the hair. I handed Katherine the check and a 20% off coupon. Katherine said I couldn't use the coupon because she already deducted a percent off my sister's plate. O...K...but the hair was their fault, not mine. I came in here with the intention of using the coupon. Katherine said no. Fine, paid my check and we bounced. I'm serious this time when I say...I am N E V E R coming back.

1 star for the horrible service! In fact, if I could give less than 1 star, I would! A couple of months ago, my friends and I were craving ice cream. Since it was 1am, we settled on Denny's because all the other places were closed. It was a Saturday night and a bit busy, which was understandable, but the wait was 20 minutes for a table AND the people who came AFTER us were seated first! At this point I was like "Oh hell no!" I mean, yeah we were a big group (about 10 people) but cmon now! We were finally seated and I noticed that our table was dirty! The used plates were still on the table, the table had not been wiped down, etc. The bus boy told us that he would clean it up but he never did. After 15 minutes, we had to call the bus boy to clean our table. He didn't even WIPE DOWN the table and left the puddles of water on the table. Are you blind or something?! Ridiculous! So as we sat for another 30 minutes WAITING for our waitress to take our orders, the BUS BOY takes our orders. Where's the waitress?!? We ordered and then we waited another 30 minutes for our desserts. WHY do you need 30 minutes to scoop out ice cream? Oh, did I mention that the BUS BOY took our orders. No one bothered to check in on us either. Just a quick recap of what happened.. 1am - we arrived with a party of 10 1:20am - we were seated in a dirty booth 1:35am - we called the bus boy to clean our table; he didn't even wipe down the table 2:05am - we placed our orders for DESSERT; the BUS BOY took our orders 2:35am - our orders arrived Yeah so what was SUPPOSED to take us an hour took almost 2 hours! DON'T EVER GO TO THIS LOCATION! SERVICE SUCKS, FOOD IS JUST OKAY, AND THE RESTAURANT IS JUST PLAIN DIRTY.

Decent service when I come here. Not always the greatest but not the worst, I mean, if they were that bad they wouldn't even be given.. 2.5 stars? lol. The waitress my friend and I had was really nice about things. She split the bill and found a way for us to save money when we were ordering. I was pleased. The only part that sucked was that she never asked us if we wanted refills on anything. She only checked up on us.. Twice? Towards the end. I guess it was semi-busy though, but still you know? Decent. That's all I've got to say. Decent.

Ergh, I've come here multiple times with my boyfriend for lunch. Or at least we used to. I like to order the grand slam with french toast, usually they say oh add a couple of dollars to make it a french toast and I say that's fine. I think we stopped coming here because the last time we came the waitress looked at me like I was stupid and said that we don't do that and I told her they've always done it before. I'll think twice before wanting to come here.

After a night of mini golf, my friends and I made our way to Denny's. This seems like the place to go, when you are craving late night food. I use to come here in high school and stopped going to Denny's; since I got a real paying job and can afford other type food. :) I ordered the club sandwich + avocado with seasoned fries. I def walked out satisfied with no disappointment. I will be back and will order the club sandwich for $8.99! The security guard that was working on Saturday night was definitely friendly and also seated us to our table. We asked him , why is Dennys so smokey?!,. he replied * I burnt the toast *,. what a giggle! Food is average, but what can you expect,. its Denny's!

It's an... ok location for a Denny's. Average service, wait time was good, and the food is just on par. Lately I've been finding myself coming to different Denny's locations due to social outings.. but it's never gotten too disappointing. The portions were a bit smaller I think here... which left me still a bit hungry after I was finished with my meal. My friends need to find another nice late night diner location... then again.. there aren't many options to eat when most of the other restaurants I'd go to are already closed.

Very Loud, rude, and immature staff. Took forever to get seated. Hair in my burger. Staff will randomly start mingling in the middle of work outright ignoring patrons. Manager admitted own employees being intolerant and did nothing. I highly HIGHLY reccomend you to disregard this Denny's at ALL COSTS! terrible.

I LOVE this Denny's and I am here far too often. I've had the same waitress three times and each time I was with a different guy. Eek. Good thing this place is always so packed that she would never remember. This one time I was here for breakfast before class. My loverman at the time asked the waitress if she could rush our orders since we were in a hurry and our meals came out ASAP! So unexpected. She was the best waitress I've ever had and we were in such a rush, we totally forgot to leave a tip! Sorry, sorry, sorry! Denny's menu is awesome all around. Props to them for adding healthier options, perfect for the health freak in all of us. Wish they didn't change the menu for night though. Tip: You can substitute pancakes for toast! Best deal ever.

So where do you go for munchies after having a little too much at a bar? After Trad'r Sam, getting kicked out at 2am, we hit Denny's This place was packed with people 2:30am! I wanna say half of the customers either came from a bar, they were high, or they were simply there for food. Who knows? Our party of 7 were tipsy and hungry. It took no time for us to decide what we wanted. First off, waters for everyone please! None of us wanted a hangover the next day. The waitress was very nice, patient, and polite. Despite the fact that she was talking to intoxicated ladies and gentlemen in their 20's, she was very patient and efficient. Check out their value meals. I forgot what it was called exactly, but the back of one of their menus had selections for $2, $4, $6, $8. Very good deals. My boyfriend and I settled with biscuit w/ gravy with hashbrowns for $2, and 2 sunnyside up eggs, 3 slices of bacon, hashbrowns and toasts for $4.99. Seriously, we paid 8 total to have all that. It was nothing amazingly good, but good enough when you need to get sober. I do think their hashbrowns are better than a lot of other restaurants. Not too oily, and not too mushy. By the end of the meal, half of us were falling asleep. Thank you Denny's for fast, efficient service so we may go home and crash! Hoping not to get a hangover.. :)

Located in a shopping center in the middle of buttfuck nowhere of Daly City, CA is a Denny's I would have never found in this damn fog. Arriving inside, we were given the opportunity to sit wherever we pleased. We were served by Andres who took our order within 20 minutes. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and 2 pancakes. Receiving the food, it was cold as well as the pancakes being tasting like cardboard. Service was bad when a smart-ass remark came from our waiter regarding my friend's allergy to dairy. Water wasn't refilled like usually done, and he forgot our water when we asked more than once. Leaving, I got the heartburn feeling of leaving a grease pit in the middle of buttfuck Delano. Would I come back for this 2 of 10 meal, no. -the foodie P.S. bleghhh

The quality of their food has shot down COMPLETELY... I remember loving Denny's as a child :( Nowadays, I cringe just thinking about my past few experiences there (i.e. being served a cold sandwich that was meant to be served hot, being served cold toast, burnt french fries, burnt BUT cold everything!) AND lets not get forget about all the weird smells up in that place. ugh nasty! As for the their staff, they are usually friendly regardless if they're being overworked. but overall I would never. NEVER. eat at any Denny's EVER. AGAIN!

I ate here in May 2012, and let me tell you the main dining area (upon entry turn right) had a foul smell to it. Its as if they picked the food off the ground and never bothered to shampoo the carpet. Just a certain stench in some sections. A good establishment would at least do the carpets once a month to avoid that stank. Our booth had some napkins and table scraps underneath. I don't know what exactly I felt when my shoe squished something under the table. To avoid the smell, eat in the section to left when entering. Better yet, bring some Windex and some Fabreze. Oh did I mention the waitress was helpful?

Bored @ 3AM. Obviously our server was equally bored. Our meal took a tad over 20 minutes to arrive. It wasn't even crowded. About four tables total, though two were full. My bf ordered the steak omelette. I got the $2 egg w/ english muffin + gravy. The gravy was of poor man's stock. Whitish, the filling must have been cheap flour or starch, with tiny pieces of sausages to make up for the lack of taste. My food arrived luke-warm. Probably because my bf's took more time to make. Total, $12 w/ tip. I guess it's worth it for being open @ 3AM and cheap as hell. (Seriously, $2 for mine. But I could have made the same thing, if not better, at home for phree).

I wish I could give ZERO stars. My family and I came to this establishment only to be ignored by the staff. We stood in line for a good five minutes. Nobody acknowledged us. That was just down right rude. It wasn't even busy either. We ended up going to Nation's. I won't be going back to Denny's. They aren't worth my time or money.

Ok, look. This is a Denny's... not fine dining. With that said, you should always expect the service and food that you pay for. And here, that's exactly what you get! Cheap food and cheap service (sometimes). But if you're lucky you'll get one of the really good servers. I found them to be there in the mornings. That's probably the best time to go if you want to get decent service. Of course, being a young adult, I have found myself here plenty of times after a night out and it has always been a loyal location to me. I know what to expect when I come here and my experience is always just fine. Tell you what: they refill my coffee constantly, they offer egg whites and turkey bacon, they give me the nutritional info, and all of that makes me satisfied. I mean they've created a bacon sundae for crying out loud. There's got to be something good about a place that does that!

been there twice. the first time was on halloween night and my wife and i decided to get a lil late night snak and we decided to go to denny's. Considering that it was really the only place open at that time i knew there was going to be a wait before we get seated. When we get to the dennys we realize there is quite a few people. We get to the front door and start talking to the host, we asked how long the wait for a table for 2 is and the host looked at me with one of the ugliest looks a person could ever give and he said "there is alot of people and it is halloween." I said well thank you for your time and left, i dont have to take the crap from him, i understand it is halloween and i knew beforehand there was going to be a wait. How rude! The second time was on a date with my wife and the food was good and the quality of the food has gotten alot better since ive been there before. As i said everything was fine until more and more rude people started to show up. The good time was ruined by a group of people who were being rude and just way too loud. I know that it is not dennys fault for the noise but i wish that they would have been courteous enough to the other guests in the restaurant to move them to a more secluded and closed off area of the restaurant (which they did have available). I am not saying to not come to this location, they have good food and a pretty ok wait staff. They just need to pull there heads out of there asses sometime. But hey i guess we all do lol.

Who hasn't been to a Denny's restaurant? The ubiquitous chain seems to be everywhere. This Denny's is located in Serramonte Plaza - Daly City. We had been here several times and always though it was okay to middling at best. It was a Friday morning and I just fasted for a blood draw at UCSF. We were also low on gasoline and decided to tank up at the SSF Costco before breakfast. By the time we finished these preliminary errands, we got hungry and were somehow we were drawn to this place like a fat lady to a candy store. This chain is probably a dead-end stop for graduates of expensive cooking schools, which was highlighted in a recent SF Chronicle article. The service seemed okay, but mechanical. It was pretty busy, but a there was an available booth. When I scanned the restaurant, you won't find any "foodies" there unless you consider that overweight people fit in that category. There was some sort of special with bacon, but it didn't appeal to us. I ordered a Grand Slam with pancakes, two eggs, and 4 sausages. My companion ordered a Grand Slam (omelet with toast) also, but she had fruit as one of sides. We noticed that for an additional $.49 you can get premium fruit. Our meals arrived promptly and in short order, I gobbled down my breakfast. Nothing distinguishing about the food, but then I have a strong tolerance. The omelet was also okay. The fruit consisted of a few pieces of sliced bananas and some green grapes. When the bill arrived, we noticed that they charged us an additional $.49 saying that we ordered cantaloupe and berries (presumably the premium fruit) . The cashier disputed our claim of the premium fruit and said that the waitress just punched it in wrong. We told her that we didn't order the premium fruit and they overcharged us. They then alleged that all fruit sides are additional charge, despite what the menu said. We decided to just pay the $.49 and not make a big scene. Would I go back here again? Probably not. Either Denny's need to be clearer on their menus or maybe these people don't understand English that well. So this review ends my series of 3 star ratings.

You know sometimes after a night out, you're starving? It's 1:00 and there are no decent restaurants open besides the 24/7 diners? So we ended up at Denny's last night. There were a ton of rice rockets outside, which immediately made us feel old pulling up in a Camry. We walked in, and to our surprise, they have redesigned with all new booths, and menus. Also to our surprise, we got seated right away. And Steve, our eager beaver server, took our order right away, and came right back with waters. Then he lingered while telling us all about the anti-virus systems that he has on his computer for free. OK dude, just give us our food and let us eat so we can go home and sleep. But, it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had at Denny's. Although that's not saying much.

Bestie: "I have never been here sober." Thinking to myself: "I am always here sober...with you..." My BEST BEST guy and girl friend (elementary to college, wassup!) got hammered tonight. To sober them up? Greasy diner food from Denny's! The hostess and waitress were very friendly and accommodating despite the word vomit spilling out of my best guy friend's mouth. We got served quick and they kept up with the refills of water after witnessing the train-wreck that my best friends were. Great service and perfect food for drunk people= 5 stars automatically!

Ugh got the worst food poisoning from eating here. Man. I just don't trust. Whenever I hear "Denny's" I die a little inside... & start to feel queasy because revisiting those eggs a second time coming up was just not worth it. Seriously. I mean, take your chances if you gotta. But I'm just letting you guys know wsup!

I came here like 2 in the morning because my friend told me it was open! The drive here was super scary because I cut through the parking lot by Macys and it was all puddle-ly! It was like i was driving on top of the ocean! Worst part was there were no street lights so it was dark as hell!! Anyways as for the food, their fries taste like cardboard, the grand slammer sandwich taste like cardboard and it was so burnt we were like, it tastes like cancer! Well what do you expect 2 in the morning? It is Dennys after all!

Well, the first time I admit was hell. The waitress or the chef did not know that there is an item called soup and sandwich and they go together, so they brought hot soup first, then sandwich after. I explained they come together. The next experience was fabulous, a male waiter, Mexican was great. He took my order, did refills and all that stuff. I usually get the breakfast, but now they have specials, it's not bad.

The food is very low quality and poorly prepared. The interior is COVERED in old and dirty silk flowers. I had an issue with Denny's 8 years ago and thought I would try them again today for breakfast. They have deteriorated even more..

This place is funny. Me and my bros went to eat here and there was 3 waiters. The place looked semi-busy (i've seen busier) and one of the waiters were serving and the other 2 walking around trying to look busy. Me and my friends were waiting for almost 25 mins to order, despite all the hand raising and calling for service. Service finally came and 3 minutes later the food comes out. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but after the waiter served us he didn't even bother coming back to help us out with refills and other stuff like that. We could've even dine n dashed without them noticing because, we were not getting any service!! the reason why i didn't give these guys a 1 star, is because the food came out quick and it wasn't bad tasting

I've been to this location several times. Every single time I've been here, the service was so slow ! The service is slow even though there wasn't much people. Even for a drink refill, it takes about 10 minutes. Just to get my order taken, no waiters/waitresses came to my table for 15 minutes. I appreciate how the worker who helped me apologized but just because it takes an half an hour to forty five minutes to finally get my food (which isn't worth it for the time) gets me irritated.

We skipped our usual Monday brunch at Brenda's in the city and came here since we needed to go to Target for Easter stuff anyways. I seriously can't believe I made such a dumb decision. Service was slow in the beginning and picked up a bit as the place emptied out. This was around 11am. It was pretty busy. Busy was seniors. I felt like I was in a retirement home. Nothing against the elderly, but not what I was expecting. The boyfriend had the triple bacon sampler and I had an order of french toast so we could share everything. The french toast wasn't cut diagnal in half like other places. It was so hard! I had to saturate each slice with syurp in hopes of it being easier to cut...nope. The hash browns came with cheese and bits of bacon. It was so dry! Needless to say, I was dissapointed and mad at myself for choosing to come here. We should have gone to IHOP.

The service here was honestly borderline mediocre, possibly from the packedness of it on the late Wednesday morning, but honestly, there were a decent amount of servers in that restaurant to properly attend to the customer's needs. I had to ask at least 4 times for the sauce that wasn't given to me to eat with me buffalo wrapsss (an added star for their value menu). And i was somewhat surprised that another Denny's had served the same dish in a larger portion. Denny's overall is just a good place after a long/ not being able to remember/ head spinning night.

Ok first thing. , the best thing about this place is that its open 24 hours What I did not like was how dirty this place is.. went to the men's bathroom to wash what a site.. I have seen better gas station bathrooms . The toilet was covered in shit toilet water every were and a bag over the urnel sink was just a mess . For a Restaurant it was a mess. As for the food I have to give it a 3 . If you have the munchies its cool . The manager did not seem to care .

It sucks that you're required to give at least 1 star. I haven't been to Denny's in a long time and now I remember why. My husband and I arrived around 11:30pm and our server kept saying "Good Morning" to everyone...at 11:30pm. Other than the street lights, it was pitch-black outside. She took our drink order and our food order at the same time. I ordered an appetizer and when our server confirmed we wanted the appetizer first, I corrected her and said I would like the appetizer as my meal. As soon as she walked away, I saw something else on the menu I wanted but we couldn't find her to ask her if it was too late to change the order. My husband asked another server if it was too late to change so that server found our server and told her we needed help. Our server than goes to a 3rd server saying, "Isn't that your table? I didn't take their order". Meanwhile, I'm hearing the complaints about our server from the table behind me (apparently she had forgotten to bring them 2 items). So the 3rd server comes over and asks if we needed menus. We told her we wanted to change an order if it were still possible. She gladly changed the order for us. Then our original server brings out my appetizer first...instead of with my husband's meal. According to the menu, the dish comes with 2 sauces but I was only given 1. We flagged down our server and before we could ask for the 2nd sauce, our server asked if the food was OK so far. I mean, she had just placed the plate of food down on our table, walked away and walked back. No food was even touched on our plate. How can I tell you if the food is OK? At this point, it was 10 minutes after we ordered...and we did not have our drinks, not even water. We had to ask her to bring us water. I overhear our server tell the customers at the table behind me that she will take whatever she failed to bring off their bill. When their bill comes, they asked for that item to be removed because it wasn't removed as promised. She continued to great everyone good morning. I guess this only annoyed me because the service was so bad.

OK place to eat, food is not the best but convienient (close to home), waitress was busy with lots of tables (Staffing issues?) had to wait a while to get food but she was very courteous and helpful. 4 Stars because she was great even though I forgot her name (Shame on me).

Maybe I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I love Denny's. Fast, cheap, good, plentiful portions...did I mention that they serve beer?!?!? You all know what they serve: breakfast, lunch, dinner, apps, etc. Nothing new and different about this location, but the service was good and I left, well, satisfied. In my book, that gets four stars.

I had the most horrible experience at the Denny's this past Sunday. I came in a party of 11 & we were seated way in the back of the restaurant by ourselves. After we were seated, we waited about 30 Mins & there was still no waiter who came to our table to check on us & take our orders. I asked if someone would come over to our tables, & I was told he'll send someone over... 10 Mins later, still no one so I went & asked again. Finally the waiter comes, takes our orders, brings us our food & drinks when they were ready. We were fine, up until the point we wanted refills & the waiter never came back once to check how we were doing. Numerous of us had to get up from our seats just to ask for drink refills. Then, I was just eating my soup, when I felt something hard in my mouth when I took a spoonful... IT WAS A PIECE OF AN ACRYLIC NAIL that was in my soup. That was one of the most disturbing things that had ever happened to me. All they said to me when I confronted me was "Sorry, I don't know how it got there. All our cooks our males & no one wears those here." He lied to me face when in fact I gave my plate to a different waitress who had on white French tipped acrylic nails on just like what was in my soup. All they did was waive my soup from the bill & nothing else. Horrible customer service with people who lie to your face! Btw, I got food poisoning after this incident. I suggest to be careful what you order or not go to this Denny's all together.

This is the only Denny's in our area now since the Westborough one is gone so we really have no choice but to come here. An hour long wait for a table but what can you expect on a Sunday morning. Churches are out and people want breakfast. The food was good. Its Denny's! Your American breakfast location. Pancakes and sausage! You really can't go wrong with Denny's.

Wow! Worst service ever!!!! came with a large group, they seated us in the back and forgot about us. We ordered our food and I just ordered mozzarella sticks.... they brought out the food and kept forgetting things including the marinara sauce to the sticks. She came back n said "Sorry 86 the marinara its frozen solid" I didn't want the sticks so i sent it back and she got mad and offended.... how bout you make sure you have all the components of the dish before you take my order? Ugh never coming back to this one again....

Went here on a Sunday for breakfast and the wait time is okay, 15 minutes. What I kind of don't like is that the servers don't really do anything. It takes a while for the food that has been cooked for a while to be served. You can tell because they're not HOT, they were WARM. Anyway, food is pretty good.

What? Me? Reviewing a nationwide chain?? And why this particular Denny's? Is it the food? Um, nope. Tastes the same whether I dine here or at the Denny's in Emeryville, Camp Pendleton, or in some podunk no-name town somewhere between here and, oh, Florida. Nope. I'm reviewing THIS Denny's because it just struck a pleasant chord within me earlier this morning when I came here after escorting my parents to a doctor's appointment. Our server was funny and efficient despite having to service seven other tables at the same time. The food was cooked well and delivered promptly. The dining area was clean, well lit and spacious. In fact, everything just felt good. That was all I needed from a restaurant this particular hectic morning. A place to wind down and eat with my parents. This Denny's delivered. And this Denny's gets my A-OK stamp of approval.

I don't eat at Denny's, but it was a treat, so what the heck. my family & I came here on a sunday. BIG MISTAKE! it was SO busy!!! there were 5 of us & a baby in a stroller, and they gave us a booth table that normally sits 4. we were seated by the door, so we had to keep on moving the stroller, because it was blocking the way. FAIL! service was very slow. there were only 3 waiters serving the lunch crowd. we waited for 15 minutes for our waiter to take our orders. another 15 minutes for our drinks to come and about 30 minutes for our food to come. FAIL! we ordered prime rib sandwich, country fried steak, bacon cheeseburger, omelet, pancake puppies & hershey cake. we were sooo hungry so we finished the food, but we were NOT satisfied at all. FAIL! the only thing I enjoyed about this visit was the time I spent with my family. oh, and the rootbeer float that kept me patient.

Came here many times before....and finally decide to write a review :) It was 8 of us and the host quickly seated us. Our waitress was pretty patience taking our orders and she actually split each person's order but all on the same receipt. Very thoughtful of her :)

Fine dining, my ass!! About a year ago I went here with a friend for breakfast. As we were eating our food I noticed a crack in the wall, and out of that crack a cockroach crawled out. This place is an insult to dining establishments everywhere!

If your looking for a late night snack then I would go here . I usually order the country fried steak with corn and mash or for breakfast the ultimate omelette ! I've tried their wings and nachos pretty good . Service can be a bit slow at night it is open 24 hours . Its semi affordable of you order from the $2 4 6 8 menu .

If I could, I would give this place zero star. If you go there in day time, you would probably experience poor service and bad food. But there is a young Asian server who is very courteous and polite. I ordered the Western Skillet, which is awful: it was charred and overcooked; I would not feed my dog this kind of food. Most of their servers are overweight and lazy. The ambiance is old and depressing. Bad experience !!!

Had a great breakfast there today! We came in with a very hungry and cranky autistic 3 year old. Our waiter was wonderful, I did not get his name but he was the best waiter ever! He saw how upset my grandson was and within 5 minutes he had his food in front of him, happy grandson, happy mom, happy Grammy! Btw I left him a 30% tip!

i can't believe i am writing an excellent review for a Dennys!. I find myself coming here a lot. It has changed - healthier menu options, dark roast coffee. Who would guess! I am guessing the other Denny's are the same. What is unusual is the staff. They are great- just great. They work so very hard.

I first hit this place while waiting for my car alignment at the Firestone, I then became a repeat customer. It's back behind the Macy's, not actually connected to the main Serramonte mall. Sunday late morning, too lazy to cook at 9:30am. I ordered a hot tea and lumberjack special (2 eggs, ham, 2 toast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes, and hash browns) ~$13. Average food quality, hit the spot especially when you wake up with that not so fresh feeling and hunger pangs with nothing in the fridge. I was going solo, was seated quickly, ordered within 5 min, got my order 10 min later. Left full and happy ready to watch a bunch of NFL games. Large groups over 6 tend to have a bit of a wait, but they are pretty efficient here. I am maybe a once a month regular.

The rating is simply based on SERVICE. First time at this Denny's, and amazingly, the staff here actually seemed to be enjoying their jobs. I saw WAY more smiles than I have ever in a diner... The service was cheery and prompt. I was almost shocked that we didn't have to wait for some rude server that takes your order as if you were bothering them. As for the food... c'mon... we all know what kind of food we will be getting when we go to Denny's - MEH pretty much sums that up. If you don't want to eat a heart-attack, get the Boca burger with fruit.

I don't usually write reviews for chains... But Denny's has changed its ways. The menus are new (and clean) and the variety of food has much improved! They now have a crispy chicken sandwich served with not exactly steak cut fries.. and not exactly crinkle cut.. they have vertical grooves in them that I guess makes for better dipping? Anyways, I needed something to go with my chicken sandwich sauce-wise and it wasn't going to be their honey dijon (or whatever dressing they had since I am not a fan of any traditional salad dressings). So I scoured the menu for other items that had some sort of sauce or light aioli... something! Then I found a garlic spread/butter of sorts. I love garlic! So I thought I'd try that out on my crispy chicken sandwich... Now, honestly, I didn't notice that much of a punch, but it did give my sandwich a little bit of a nice surprise and kept my sandwich from getting too dry. So nice that I got it again the next time I went - yeah! I went back because I had a good meal plus their service has been phenomenal! So accommodating (garlic butter on a sandwich? they did it with no questions asked), so friendly, so happy - I thought I was in the wrong restaurant! Good job Denny's on making me a fan again!

I know there's a certain amount of expectations when you go to a place like this. But when they are supposedly known for the breakfast and that it is served all day, you kind of expect a whole lot more. Eggs, like rubber Hash, all burnt Sausages, yuck Glass, disgusting Utensils, bring your own. Basically, the food looked like it spent way too much time in the oven being reheated over and over again. They need someone to actually wash the dishes.

  • Geric O.

Quite the contrary to the general rating of this place, I actually like this Denny's! First of all, it's the overall service. I personally know a few of the waiters/waitresses there, mainly through the times my father-in-law has taken us out to eat there on the first of the month. And also, I've been there numerous times, and I can only count on one hand the number of times they've truly screwed us over, whether it be a wrong order or just slow service. During the morning, it can be pretty hectic, but this Denny's is rather large so you don't have to wait that long for your table. One of the waiters there, Andre, is very friendly and polite, and never hesitates to ask how we're doing. Of course, this is because we know him already, but even if it was the first time you've gone there, their general attitude is very pleasant. I recommend this Denny's for their service. Their food is the same as all the other Denny's. And I've heard that they are even serving alkie now! That must be a big plus for some of you folks! :P
